I apologise to readers for once again devoting time and energy to the C-word. I would not have mentioned Stuart Campbell again were it not for the fact that he is once more using his blog to attack me, as he flounces off in a huff, and it is important that I set the record straight about what really happened as it will not be apparent from the one sided and self-serving account being set out by Campbell.
After my very public falling out with the fake reverend and his followers towards the beginning of the election campaign I received a communication from a woman whose identity I will not disclose. Campbell has a great many enemies. She made an allegation that Campbell had behaved in an inappropriate manner with another person.
I did not share this information with anyone, but I reached out in private to the woman who was allegedly the victim in order to inquire if the allegation was true, and whether she wished to make a complaint about it if it was.
She replied to tell me that she was distressed and upset to find herself being drawn into a dispute between two prominent bloggers and that anything that had occurred between her and Campbell was a private matter which was entirely consensual.
I immediately apologised for causing her any distress and assured her that the information I had received had not and would not go any further. Having been satisfied that the allegation being made could not be substantiated, and that the information I had received did not appear to be true, as far as I was concerned the matter was over. One short email was the extent of the “harrassment” which Campbell accuses me of.
Late that night I received an angry email from Campbell calling me “sick”. This was followed some time later by another angry email in which Campbell claimed that the only reason he had not already reported me to the police was out of his concern for the feelings of the woman. This was followed an hour later in the wee small hours of the morning by yet another furious email which was more directly threatening. Campbell asserted that if I ever “tried to pull this slimeball shit” again he would have the police at my door “quicker than I could pee.” He need not worry about that, because if in future I ever receive information detailing a similar allegation against him, I will call the police myself.
I will not be bullied, threatened or intimidated by Stuart Campbell. His threat to call the police was risible, hysterical, and typical of a bully. I acted entirely appropriately and with integrity. An allegation was made by a third party, and while protecting the privacy of all concerned – including Campbell – I made a discreet inquiry in order to discover whether the allegation could be verified. As it transpired it could not be verified and I did not pursue things any further. The only reason I am mentioning any of this now is because in an effort to impugn me even more than he has already Campbell is claiming that I acted inappropriately and in the process is causing further distress to the woman whose feelings he claims to be concerned about.
All did was to carry out a basic and entirely ethical journalistic practice upon receipt of information- which I did not solicit – making an allegation of misconduct. If someone had shared information with Campbell alleging that I or anyone else on his long and ever lengthening list of enemies was guilty of a form of personal misconduct, he would have done exactly the same. It is disingenuous in the extreme for him to imply otherwise. If anyone had threatened him with the police for daring to follow up a lead that he’d received, he’d be the first to scream about a police state and how his freedom of speech and the freedom of the press were under threat. It’s not the first time Campbell has been exposed as a hypocrite, I’m sure it won’t be the last.
The fact that he is using this episode in order to continue his obsessive vendetta against me only provides further evidence that the only feelings he truly cares about are his own. His laughable bullying threat to call the police on anyone who dares to try and ascertain whether there is any truth in an allegation of misconduct made against him merely demonstrates that in Campbell’s eyes when a woman makes an allegation of misconduct against a powerful man, the allegation should be instantly dismissed without any scrutiny or investigation. I will leave you to draw your own conclusions about what this tells us about his much vaunted “standing up for women’s rights.”
I will now get back to ignoring Campbell and allowing him to howl into the void of his own irrelevance. Incidentally, I am not quite sure why Campbell ever called me a backstabber. I was quite sure I’d stabbed him in the front.
He is a complete and utter nyaff! Sue him if he persists. We will chip in with funds. Keep well. Virtual hugs. You don’t need this level of upset just now.
One thing about a long history of blogging, it does reveal what kind of a person the blogger really is. It is entirely clear that you are a decent and thoughtful man, and that Campbell is… something else. Let us hope that he returns to the obscurity that he so thoroughly deserves, and that you continue to inspire and entertain the Yes movement for many years to come.
The very best of health and happiness to you.
Above all look after yourself! I have already decided to ignore anything or any blog going on about Alba etc. I was never a fan of WoS and there are a few other vitreolic bloggers out there and as far as I can see my own FB contacts have nothing to do with them.
A bit like trolls: don’t feed them and they’ll go away!
He is irrelevant. I used to read him but began to “hae ma doots” . Think he revels in being a “shock jock” – and I don’t see him struggling financially by using this tactic. Get stronger. Get well.
Your health comes first. Don’t let a nasty nutter like him set you back.
Can I ask you Paul why you decided to take it upon yourself to play detective rather than tell the person to contact the police with their concerns?
Yes. This.
Any person who receives a disclosure is morally bound to be content in their own mind that what has been relayed to them is as accurate as possible. If they have contact with the alleged victim then they should be sure that an escalation is what the alleged victim wants. And not simply escalate the situation on the strength of ‘taproom tails’.
Ignore him Paul…he craves attention for all the wrong reasons..your health is more important than his ego….take care x
You’re right. Ignoring him is best. I agree with all previous posts. I think he’s wonky.
Take care. You’re one of the best. ❤️❤️❤️
Keep calm and carry on Paul. This too shall pass.
We have an independence campaign to fight and you are a leading light of the YES movement. Soon we will all be able to meet up again and swap memories and reflections of these most unsettling times. I hope that we can all come together in solidarity as the campaign gets under way.
Oooffft! What a thoroughly unpleasant idiot the Rev is! I followed him in 2014 but not for a while now. The main focus for you now is you. He is irrelevant & uncontrollable. Look after you & let others look after him.
Who should ‘control’ him?
Ditto what Ann says.
You tell this story in a completely different way from Stu …..now, who to believe?
Well, Paul, frankly. Now off back to WaS. (Ooops…)
You judge people by their actions and character – one look at ‘Rev’ Stu’s website will tell you all you need know about him !
Why did you even feel the need to make this point ?
Paul has demonstrated his honesty and integrity time and time again.
llornamac says: May 12, 2021 at 8:09 pm
You tell this story in a completely different way from Stu …..now, who to believe
I hope that’s sarcasm!
Good grief Paul you really don´t need this right now!
Anyway….
” I am not quite sure why Campbell ever called me a backstabber. I was quite sure I’d stabbed him in the front.”
HAHAHA Brilliant!! and that´s you when you are a bit hors de combat!!!!
Leaving the wee pastor to stew in his own juices is probably the best thing you could do.
The lack of attention will positively burn.
In the meantime, concentrate on your own health and we’ll look forward to your next blog as always.
But why was it your place to find out if she wanted to make a complaint? Sounds like this caused her a lot of upset. Sounds like you may have been in the wrong here?
Please see my comment up stream.
Also
We all have a moral obligation to support victims of abuse, and call out abusers.
To Plagiarizer. All that is required for evil to flourish, is for good people to do nothing.
But as you say, the complainer must actually want to complain, which appears not to be the case here. Even the Scottish Government are not obliged to contact the police about possible harassment claims unless the victim wants it to be reported, look at the mess ignoring that rule caused!
Most workplaces will report to the police if they believe a serious crime has been committed on their premises no matter what victim wants. If they don’t they are leaving themselves open to being accused of negligence if the victim some time in the future changes their mind. These areas are not straightforward and most workplaces will err on the side of caution if it threatens to damage their future reputation.
It’s not the workplace that decides if a prosecution proceeds, it is the police investigation and the prosecution service, unless you are an Alba supporter then it’s all under the mesmeric control of Nicola Sturgeon.
Your comment shows total ignorance of the facts in the AS court case…. The exact opposite is true when the scot gov decided to betray a woman who did not want to press charges but went ahead anyway. She was then forced to give evidence in a court case she wanted nothing to do with. So get your facts right before you start spounting rubbish.
Stuart who?
It is not beyond reason to consider that this third party tried to set you up, Paul
I’d end this here.
You are a target, of that there is no doubt.
Chill.
We need you clear headed.
Campbell seems to have got lost in a world of his own making.
Let’s leave him there.
Not impossible, alas. An attempt to prolong the Salmond sh*te by proxy, and use it to silence an effective pro-indy voice when they’re most vulnerable?
Qui bono, eh…?
My own thoughts too. A set-up.
My immediate thoughts too. Sounds like a set up.
It appears they knew exactly what they were doing, especially if they provided the contact of the alleged victim. That would ring alarm bells for sure.
Quite sinister and designed to cause maximum stress, nasty.
Keep all correspondence and details.
Anymore nonsense, contact the police straight away, you are being harassed. Manipulation is a form of harassment, could be considered a crime against a person with disabilities.
Look after yourself Paul.
On second thoughts, I’d maybe think about reporting it anyway.
Good on you.
Ignore him Paul, a lot of us have been ignoring him for years. I’m told it has been increasingly less of a blog and more of a rambling rant. Stay well, do not let this affect your recovery. He is simply not worth it.
What a sad wee man. He was preparing to up sticks if things didn’t go his way, if he failed in his attempts to destroy Nicola Sturgeon and in fact Holyrood itself. Well as we know now things didn’t go his way, far from it. He also probably proved to be toxic to Alex Salmond’s success or otherwise. It’s also beginning to dawn on him that bloggers aren’t exempt from going to prison and that he is also responsible for any defamatory comments that are posted on his site. So as he goes on his way he’s determined to smear as many people as he can, try to bring them down, and of course that would include more than anything any blogger that disagreed with his ”tactics” and has been proven to be right. I hope that he gets help with some of the psychological issues that he’s dealing with and finds some kind of inner contentment. He was at one time the number one UK forensic journalist, so with that in mind I say adieu, fairwell for old times sake. And don’t worry Stu with independence, and it’s coming, we’ll clean up our own backyard.
No wonder you had to take time out Paul 🙄. It must have been hellish for you between one thing and another. Terrible too that its come to this taking into account that during the Dugdale case as other people did a runner you were prepared to support SC. Expect to be attacked now as he’s once again whipped up hatred and vented his poisonous spleen, but as Capella says ”THIS TOO SHALL PASS”, so hang on in there. Don’t let him win.
For all we know Alex Salmond might have been the one to tell him to pack it in, after all his blog did Alba no favours with it’s constant attacks on the FM and in fact that likely cost Alba support from SNP voters.
I doubt that Alex Salmond has any real control over the man from Bath, Alex. That role belonged to someone else, imo.
Yes But. . . . . AS’s people contribute articles to Wings. Whether AS. has any control over Wings or not. . . He has done nothing to distance himself or his supporters from the diatribe!
Agree.
The Fake Rev can ride off into the sunset for all I care and good riddance to bad rubbish. Please take care of yourself Paul. I look forward to reading your blogs
This is extremely worrying. A person of his previous political influence should have a transparent life and his protestations prove to me he has something to hide. If people don’t want scrutiny they shouldn’t put themselves up for public debate. I believe a person’s private life reflects their character and we have to judge their words accordingly. I hope this ugly episode ends here and that Mr. Campbell of a spurious religious title steps back so that the lady who had or hadn’t any sort of relationship with him can be at peace.
[…] Wee Ginger Dug The C-word I apologise to readers for once again devoting time and energy to the C-word. I would […]
Ego is a dangerous thing, it begins with being controversial to attract attention, the ego grows and needs to feed itself more so becomes arrogant then angry if more folk begin to stop feeding it, it becomes irrational uncontrollable then implodes blowing a hole in it’s own boat to drown everyone in the vicinity because it’s descended into hatred yet still craves the attention of the ones who are drowning, then oblivion
The bigger the ego the bigger the mess when it ends, Donald Trump was the latest big public example of how uncontrolled ego can overwhelm and damage even a country
Fortunately this insignificant wee Zoomer can’t damage anybody but himself
You are describing narcissism to a T, Dr Jim. The narcissist doesn’t want to be seen as a failure and even more so to lose their narcissistic supply – devotees. When they do they try to discredit the individual who has rejected them, turn everyone against him / her and then the rage sets in.
http://www.choosingtherapy.com/narcissistic-rage/
Time for Bette Davis – fasten your seatbelts
I appreciate this! It made me smile on a dark day
👍
Hahaha. Bumpy night right enough 😀.
At one time I used to read his blog then when you realise he thinks he is more important than he really is I stopped reading his posts
He is the most obnoxious vile little creature I have had the misfortune to read
That’s despicable you have more integrity in your little finger than he has ( if any) keep doing what you do best . We have an Indy ref to prepare for and win
“ I acted entirely appropriately and with integrity. “
Sorry but you didnt , because you should not have done this..
“ I made a discreet inquiry in order to discover whether the allegation could be verified “
Who are you to contact a complete stranger a woman and start asking them questions about their private life ? Do you consider yourself akin to the police ?
What you should have done is tell your informer to report the information to the police thats what you should have done , you didnt , i suspect because you thought there might well be truth in the allegations but you then thought to be safe i had best check , im sure you were realising the mistake you made of contacting this woman and asking her personal questions about her relationship with Mr Campbell when she reacted the way she did.
Mr Campbell has not reported you to the police but the woman might , yes you had good intentions but you probably frightened her , what you did was wrong , i hope you do not get a visit from the police yourself now.
Oh for goodness sake Terence give us all a break. You don’t know the ins and outs of this and Paul isn’t in a position to divulge any more about it.
Neither do you but it didn’t stop you from spouting psycho-babble upthread. What a story you spun from nothing but your fevered imaginings.
As a Highlander site agent used tosay to me, “Well you know yourself.”
Who left the back door open?
The poor soul, the village idiot who no one cares about has wandered in again, seeking attention.
Best just ignore him but treat him kindly before guiding him right back out the door.
Sez the very same person who repeatedly asserted Alex Salmond didn’t put a foot wrong. In due deference to our host, all I’ll add is that your dodgy currency is now worthless here.
Terence, maybe take a wee step back, show some empathy too. Paul is in a vulnerable position, he was emailed out of the blue, given information and by all accounts contact info of an alleged victim, he felt a responsibility to find out if it was true. Now if the alleged victim had contacted Paul directly I am sure he’d have said to contact the police.
This all sounds like an attempt to manipulate a vulnerable person in fact with disabilities, perhaps with some cognitive impairment, (no offence Paul!) In order to try to create some kind of case against him given the threats of police involvement since.
Most people would have seen this for what it was, but a person in a vulnerable state, having suffered a serious illness might not. Give Paul the benefit of the doubt, because this all seems quite sinister and deliberate manipulation.
Dreadful.
Mr. Campbell hasn’t been well since the Kezia Dugdale debacle. Please look after yourself.
Well said Alice, this was the start of his anti-SNP stance.
I thought his anti SNP stance started after being interviewed for the Alex Salmond show.
Paul,
I am so very, very dissappointed in you. I met you once, and you signed your book for me.
A ‘discrete inquiry’, you say. Come on, do you really think folk are thick. I thought you were one of the good guys.
As you may/may not remember, I first came across your writing many, many years ago on the original newsnet Scotland in its very early days. Things were different then.
Words really fail me here. I am just so dissappointed in you.
You can always console yourself with your ‘wings coin’, if you rub it hard enough and click your heals then you’ll be in Kansas.
I think you’re pretty thick to be honest. To be fair though I’ve always thought that since reading your comments on Wings all the way back to 2013.
You seemed thick then and still do.
Oh, the WaSsers are visiting us again, it seems, with all their usual baggage. Never mind, sorry for your impending loss, but maybe there’s another fake preacher out there somewhere just waiting for ready-made suckers…
(Haven’t you faithful followers registered yet that all the buzz – and not just talk, either – of “courts” and “police” always seems to centre round the SoB, and never around our host here? Do wake up and open your eyes.)
”Words really fail me here. I am just so disappointed in you.”
Robert Louis just as many of us on here are deeply disappointed in Stu Campbell, however the difference, one difference, is that you can post on here but many of us are banned from Wings.
Comments like this are clearly part of the harassment. Disgusting. Lay off!
Re R. Louis.
Face it Kavanagh, you went digging for dirt on Campbell, a better man than you, he takes the issue no further.Your explanation above is cringingly awful.
You’ve blown your credibility. You now have your Ayrshire cottage. so time for you to quit.
Bye
You don’t have to dig for anything on the vile creature Campbell my money is on he has no intention of disappearing it is only your usual plea hoping people will talk him into staying so he can say by popular demand I have changed my mind
I can only hope he is true to his word for once
Comedy gold.
Here we go with the Wings Muppet Show.
Aye . . . But are they going to come here, given no future articles on Wings. . .
I won’t bite LOL
It seems many of my old comrades from WoS have appeared here this evening and a few others like rc who could be agent provocateurs. It may be the person contacting you Paul was also? In practical terms it is none of my business. Caution is my watchword.
From experience WoS became a nasty place to support the snp and the Scottish government. It is fair to criticise but it became nastier when the blog thought it was “smart” to make comments about the Mundell’s. I thought it was silly but more so as it gave ammunition to the unionists papers and boy did it not do that, for months and years. I was blocked by Campbell with a farewell F*** Off.
I was not rude nor offensive. That cannot be said for some of his bloggers. As to why he has dropped out I do not know. Maybe conspiracy theories will emerge. Who knows, who cares? I always think that these are diversions from the truth.
Maybe in blogosphere land a refreshing wind of change will take place from the frankly disgusting and obnoxious material flying about in Twitter and other areas. The unionists blogs are in my view more dangerous and worrying.
Still I and many others on this blog still wish for and will fight for independence. It’s bigger than Salmond, Sturgeon and the rest but it is sad reminiscing of the days of the wee blue book and the blog. That was good, it was hopeful, but has been poisoned.
Paul you and your partner have had a terrible year in relation to your health and your new life in Ayrshire. I can only wish you better days ahead. Let’s hope it will be in an independent Scotland.
Well said Hamish.
Oh, this is the best one yet! {laugh}
Another comment designed to harass a vulnerable person.
This is Mr Campbell,s version
“ he harassed a friend of mine so grievously and so disgustingly (he was trying to get them to help him have me put in prison) that they ended up in hospital in intensive care and very nearly lost their life – “
Mr Campbell has now decided to close down the wingsoverscotland site , he says that Scotland has been betrayed by the SNP saying “ both votes SNP “ leading to just 2 list seats from over a million list votes.
He says SNP have done this to ensure the individuals in SNP get a few more years employment in Scottish government he is still adamant that there will be no Scottish independence referendum in the next five years because of this SNP sell out.
So you believe the Bathistan troll and post his crap here. Any credibility you had left here has been entirely blown out of the water
Credibility? That went out the window years ago. I thought lately we had finally lost him full-time to WaS (where he never had any credibility either in the old days), and only in that minor way might I regret that Bathistan is shutting up shop.)
”This is Mr Campbell,s version.”
And what?
I assume he is never going to live in Scotland then? 🏴
Supporters of bathestan must be disappointed. Where do you go now?
Incidentally, SNP has no responsibility to this guy who chooses to live in England and for all I know may have voted Lib Dem in England last week.
Callachan, when you first started posting your anti-English shite on pro Independence blogs a few years ago I had you marked down as an idiot that had no clue as to how we might possibly win our Independence. Everything I’ve ever read from you since has confirmed that view.
You are Scotland’s stupidest Independence supporter without doubt and one of the biggest obstacles to Scotland becoming Independent is arseholes like YOU who soft No voters want to run a mile from when you start giving them your crap!
To win we need the support of the majority. You are an obstacle to winning that support with your hate, you are an obstacle to Independence and YOU are the village idiot.
This is a site for supporters of Independence who have a positive vision and a positive outlook of what an Independent Scotland can be. If you have nothing positive to add to that discussion then you’re not welcome here. Your choice.
👍🏻
You may say that, Alex, but I couldn’t possibly comment. {wink}
Temper temper Alex , the truth hurts , i think you know your hero had made a mistake .
So?
I see the wings disciples have arrived.
An ego that size will never give up the blog for long, reminds me of another one that stomps of regularly. They need the adulation, obscurity will not be quench that thurst, and he’s a bit on the zimmer side for games reviews. Although maybe he could go retro, I look forward to the Donkey Kong review.
You might be right, jfngw. He’s still to make ”a finally-final decision”, FGS 😀. He’s exhibiting his toxic narcissistic rage and then, God forbid, when he calms down may return.
I suspect he is likely to make more comebacks than Status Quo unfortunately
Away and crawl back under your Bathistan rock Vellofello your post was utterly obnoxious and you will find little support from folks who follow or post on this blog
He actually ran back to Bathistan, following being on here, like some kind of a wee sweety wife 😀 .
All that was really needed was “I read the WOS article, that’s not what happened”.
End of story.
Eh, really?
Would you just let serious accusations that were made against you pass without comment?
No, like Alex I don’t think so either. It would look defensive and shady. You need to face bullies down, otherwise their insidious influence spreads. Daylight is a sanitiser.
Nailed it Paul, fine words. Get well soon Sir, we need you back in the trenches.
Ellidh, I paddle my own canoe, always have. I’m not a follower of anyone.Kavanagh was digging for dirt.
Facts are cheils that winny ding.
And you have none and present none. Only supposition and innuendo.
Learned well the dark side have you, from your master.
”Kavanagh was digging for dirt.”
Bl**dy hysterical. Your boss in Bath is the Grand Master of that art.
Petra dont be silly.
WOS has gone a bit weird but i think what WGD done was wrong .
Im not taking sides here i think WGD and WOS have in their time done great work but the version WOS gives is very different from the version given by WGD , even setting aside the differences in versions i have to say that WGD own version shows what he did was wrong very wrong he should have referred it straight to the police or told his informer to refer it to the police.
Yes, you are taking sides here by coming onto Paul’s blog and calling him a liar. If you ever had any credibility, you just lost it.
Velofello ( traveller ) Don’t judge others by your own very low standards !
Why would he be digging for dirt? What was the motive.
What was the timeline? Before or after Kavanagh stood up in court in support of Campbell?
Do you know that?
Irrelevant Alex ,get a grip
I see the Indy inclined have put their rift behind them and are moving forward together to secure Indy.
Frankly, when one (or two) air their washing in public, that’s a major turn off for voters, regardless of the immediate shock factor.
Rise above it.
Honi soit qui mal y pense.
https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/19298427.wings-scotlands-stuart-campbell-announces-quitting-blogging/?ref=ebbn
Disciples mournfully sing, “Will he no’come back again?”
The last thing Paul needs is this aggro. Bad enough that Stuart Campbell publishes smear and innuendo on his blog. Worse that his supporters come on here to magnify the insult.
SC appears to be motivated by rage – against Nicola Sturgeon, against Peter Murrell, against the SNP, against the judiciary, against the Lord Advocate, against the Scottish Government and against the Scottish people who are monumentally stupid.
We poor deluded fools will just have to keep a stiff upper lip and soldier on. We’ll do our best to bring about independence. Anyone else willing to help is welcome
as far as I’m concerned – even Stuart Campbell once he climbs down off his mustang.
You better get your block finger working Paul you’re in for it from the directed Jehadi faithful, because that’s exactly what Campbell planned when he carefully crafted his his suicide note, *from hell’s heart I stab at thee*
All too predictable I’m afraid.
Hahaha nobody cares, after all we’re all on the side of Independence eh.
Further proof that no good deed goes unpunished.
Goodbye (WoS) to bad rubbish.
I thought Petra’s comment upthread about Paul being willing to stand up and be counted for Stu Campbell when he took Kezia Dugdale to court, and the subsequent ingracious lack of reciprocity shown, to be particularly apposite. And sad.
What we’ve had to endure this last while has been revealing of the nature of both bloggers, but only one of them comes out of it well. And the judgement calls we make on that are equally revealing of each of us.
Hopefully though this is the end of all the ordure that has been tainting the independence movement of late, and now we can finally more on to dealing with the substantive issues that actually matter to ordinary people as we limber up for the real showdown that’s surely a’comin’.
Isn’t it strange that this crap from the Bathistan seer and acolytes came to the fore less than a week after Paul starting blogging again . One would think certain people were trying to discourage him
As if things aren’t bad enough I see that Rooth the Mooth is holding court on Peston, Does anyone know if Peston pays well?
.. such a shame that there are so few ‘journalists’ with your investigative integrity, Paul. Oh wait ..
…for what? You to stop producing oblique insinuations and make youirself clear, maybe?
.. apologies grizebard, seems I was being too subtle there, but I’m happy to clarify: he was being mocked.
That’s better. Always good to be clear. Thanks for your snide (non-)contribution. Now you can piss off back under whatever stone you crawled out from. Rest assured you won’t be missed.
good to hear from you again grizebard.
But now I will, as so touchingly requested, ‘piss off’ back to a place where women aren’t hospitalised, at risk o life, as a result of the venomous hatred of one blogger for another.
Take good care now ..
berg
Glad you have something better to get on with now in your cozy alternative universe under that stone. Still don’t know why you bothered with that little outburst of passive aggression though. Desperately short of entertainment during the shutdown and lacking imagination, I suppose.
Have a nice remainder of a long life (elsewhere).
Hahaha Wings gave up “investigative journalism” over two years ago when it turned it;s gaze from the pathetic MSM to attacking the SNP instead.
Making shit up about people you don’t like isn’t “investigative journalism” it’s slander.
I’ve been reading through the comments on Wings and thankfully there’s only one or two minor references to this site. Practically all are saying that they are not surprised that he is going and wishing him farewell. Some of the comments from people that I interacted with previously on the site, genuine supporters of independence I reckon, indicate that they are really upset and I can truly sympathise with them. I loved that site too and all it stood for. Like here I posted on there every day for years on end. I contributed to all fundraisers and even suggested that we should raise money to buy SC a home in a safe place. Pay for him to go on holiday to get a well deserved break and so on. I detested SC’s, let’s just say, ”abrasive” approach but by God he was a force to be reckoned with when it came to demolishing the BritNats and then it all changed, not overnight but drip by drip.
I can clearly remember the very day when the penny dropped for me, when I realised that he no longer supported independence at all and I could see how it would all pan out over time. The short term aims that would be used to achieve his (their) long term objective. I was so upset with the realisation that I didn’t go to work that day (a first for me), but just sat at home alone and broke my heart crying off and on from morning to night.
So moving on now it would seem that there are two (or more) differing views of the blog owner and his site. The end of an era I would say, whatever stance you take, but time to put this all behind us, put our personal opinions of him to one side, wipe away the tears and unite to fight and overcome our true enemy if we really want to see our country become independent. Don’t let this lead to us cutting off our nose to spite our face, as the Scots are prone to do.
What a laugh. This guy Mark Dolan is something else 😀.
‘TalkRADIO call sums up Westminster’s delusion on Scottish independence.
http://www.thenational.scot/news/19298009.talkradio-call-sums-westminsters-delusion-scottish-independence/
Great link, much needed laugh after reading the guff from the Wings refugees looking for a new echo chamber.
Just how are we going to find the bawbees to fund what Englanders think we should spend our money on?
Frighteningly, they breed.
Somewhere a small band of manipulators are having a quiet chuckle over this latest twist.
Although I understand your need to clarify, the vitriol this would bring from certain quarters would not have been unexpected.
I don’t blame you, Stu, Alex, Nicola, or anyone for what has been going on over the last few years, ALL of us have been victims to varying degrees of the good old divide and conquer brigade, mere collateral damage in a strategy to destroy the Indy movement from within.
The question is, can we stop playing their games ?
Spot on with that one Bob. Sums it up nicely. Where we are at right now 🙄 however are we willing, more so thick enough, to continue playing along with their divisive wee game?
This. Definitely this!
I don’t know enough about the backstory behind this episode to be 100% sure, but from the number of WoS trolls jumping in to piggyback on the incident makes me suspect a set up.
Which makes me also suspect that the Indy movement is in serious danger of fracturing beyond repair. Too busy attacking each other to focus on the prize of independence.
Get it together folks, you’re embarrassing us! We’re supposed to be too smart to fall for this sort of divide and conquer crap!
Well Paul, as a fellow Stroke survivor rest assured I write mindful of the effects of a CVA across the board. So neither of us are at a disadvantage in understanding here… we are on a level playing field in that respect at least.
You couldn’t possibly have changed your mind about everyone in and around the Wings Stall… and there are at least a dozen or so who could have told you of the character ( if it is who we all think it is ) of your source.
A fecken phone call Paul and this would never have happened !!!
Any one of us could have cautioned you you were being played, and, as it turns out you were.
Shouldn’t the first response of a journalist be to check on the reliability of a source?
Espically since your own judgement is still recalibrating ..
Are you really sure that you weren’t so blinded by what you were being told you didn’t stop to check?
I haven’t had the heart to engage here Paul since I heard what had happened.
And I will admit to being bloody angry.
My focus ( because I haven’t yet seen it mentioned ) was that there was a wean right in the middle of all of this.
A wean almost orphaned, by the repercussions of actions you took.
And let me tell ye Paul, that ” Mammy In Chief ” your so supportive of would never have even noticed that wean unless she looked down to see what it was she was stepping on.
I hope the hurt and fear that wean has endured won’t haunt too much and as a Dad I expect you do too.
It is beyond dispute that the Police told the Scottish Goverment that they weren’t qualified to make the enquiry they made into grown women in very senior positions and this is a current Part of Scotland’s story.
Did you even stop to think about that and what it might mean ?
That in such a delicate situation ye don’t play with people !
That there are people trained to get to the truth of the matter with as little damage as possible done to a wee family just trying to get by.
Christ Paul what on earth were ye thinking…
We’re never done being told how triggered those women were, are and will be.
Yet you went right ahead and waded in towards a young woman whom you knew nothing about …. and look at what resulted.
It is more luck than judgement that you do not have the death of a young woman on your hands and a child flung into the care system.
And you have the bare faced cheek to say Wings is picking on ye.
You and him stepped into this, she was a civilian
I pretty much don’t care if you ban me now Paul, I’m done here anyway.
I am also pretty amblivent about you removing this post.
But I would ask that you at the very least contemplate what I’ve said.
You were out of order man and it would serve ye better if ye owned it and mibbi go some way to bringing the lady and her wean a wee bit of peace.
”if it is who we all think it is.”
So you don’t really know who it is Liz but go on nevertheless? I’m surprised at you to say the least.
How on earth is a “wean right in the middle of this” and “repercussions of actions he took” caused by someone simply enquiring direct from the person concerned, then backing off and staying schtum when informed there was nothing to discuss? This is just emotive bullsh*t added in to sauce a tasteless meal.
If there was any endangerment, it was caused by the original actions of the individuals concerned. And subsequently by your hero in particular who crassly chose to inflate this into a big personal issue for no reason whatever except his own apparent (and increasing) instability and insatiable rancour.
Then, besides all that, insinuating that Paul’s judgement is somehow impaired by having a stroke? That’s a new low blow, however you dress it up with your pretend concern.
Frankly, you need a serious reality adjustment and a change of environment. You’ve been “swimming in foetid water” for far too long. Irrational anger is contagious.
I’m afraid I find the rather conflated cause and affect being promoted rather distasteful if not just downright unbelievable. A single enquiry is highly unlikely to cause mental health problems or the catalyst for the contemplation of suicide even if the individual was already in a state of depression. Anger, yes but suicide?
Paul knows a fair bit about what constitutes harassment, most of it emanating from those purporting to be independence supporters. Vicious and hurtful commentary which forced Paul to withdraw from his own blog.
What a thoroughly disgusting comment, truly sickening. I would encourage Paul to get legal advice and contact the police at this stage.
Felt quite sickened reading that. Clearly an agenda here, very sinister.
And now off to bed knowing that I won’t get my much needed 4 hours sleep 🙄. Worth it I would say 😀.
‘Dead Wings Farce.’
My bad Petra .. it should read * Espically *if it is who we all think it is.
But there are a limited number of people it could be , nevertheless a fair few of us could have made an enquiry to the lady herself much more diplomatically and mindful of her own circumstances.
Paul has those kind of contact details and has had for some time.
Therefore avoiding any of this wasn’t rocket science which would also have been in everyone’s best interests too don’t ye think?
Or are ye really sayin Paul acted appropriately despite the options he clearly had here , because if you’re defending this then we have very much surprised each other.
Anyhoo as I said I’m done here and I wish you and the others my best xxx
I don’t have a clue as to who is who or what is what Liz so better to leave it at that. Least said sooner mended as they say.
Campbell is the traitor here paul not you the guys gone of the rails he stabbed you in the back had his sycophants attack you and then pulls this before running away in a huff you’ve done nothing wrong here you’ve just stood up to a bully and the bully is running away you won.
I stopped reading Wings sometime in 2019. I think in 2018 or 2019 (or maybe earlier, time moves so quickly these days!), he had a fundraiser for a second Wee Blue Book. I donated to this. He said this was an entirely different and separate fund to his blog fund or his Court case fund. Where is this money now? Will we get it back? He must have made a tidy sum!
You anticipated my very thought. The money donated by many, some themselves far from being well-endowed, was on the understanding it was going to be used – sooner or later – to promote independence, not give the SoB a happy retirement after doing his utmost to wreak as much damage to the cause of independence as he could. Even if we can be assured that the Next Blue Book fund is currently safe and untouched, what about all the rest?
He’s been very energetic at finger-pointing the SNP about its finances (though he’s not followed-through, merely cast aspersions). We former donors might be fully justified in asking questions about his own money-management.
I donated too, but to be honest I’d be happy to forfeit that money just to see the back of him. I also doubt that any WBB produced now would be conducive to helping us to achieve Independence. He was never transparent about money received but a quick tally of what was in the public domain (that we know about) indicated that he’d taken in at least £1m.
Best to ignore this Paul for the sake of your peace of mind and general health. In my opinion your site is balanced and informative .It helps people to see the bigger picture and teaches them how to think. We need you,so take care of yourself.
Seems to me that you protested your innocence very quickly which means you know fine well you did something you should not have done.
Really!! Paul said nothing publicly about this for several weeks. It was the Bathistan seer who went public about this situation in his vitriolic post yesterday.
People need to ask themselves this if Paul had made no response to the email about that lady what would have happened
then Within days articles would have appeared on certain blogs alleging Paul had covered up sexual impropriety that’s what. Was this situation a setup quite possibly. If so all involved are a disgrace to the Indy cause,Scotland and the entire human race.
If there is some poor soul with mental health problems caught in the middle of this I very much doubt having allegations involving her all over the Internet in certain blogs would have helped her
So happy to have you back, Paul. I hope your mental and physical health continues to improve. I look forward to reading your blog.

This site and the mindless , blabbering drones who dominate the commentary has become a sad reflection of the State of Disgrace the lying , vindictive fraud Sturgeon has brought Scotland to . You sold out any integrity you had and bought shares in the New SNP one-more-mandate fiction factory . You can gloat as much as you like about Stuart’s , totally understandable , given the dreck he has had to endure for the simple desire to TELL THE FUCKING TRUTH – decision to call it a day , but neither you nor any of the other uncritical apologists for the utterly corrupt regime in Holyrood/Bute House are worthy of lacing that man’s boots and never will be .
As I commented on the last thread, you and yours bring no light, no positivity to the independence movement. Bile, rancour and division are your only contributions. I don’t mourn the passing of wings, nor do I believe Alba was conceived to be anything other than a Trojan horse in Scotland’s Parliament. You won’t be missed.
What utter shite, but should we be surprised from a “shite over Scotland” acolyte. Just piss off and take your shite pals with you. So back to where you belong, back to the pig pen for the lot of you 😂
Paul take care and enjoy Ayrshire a very nice place to be.
Zzzzzz
vindictive fraud Sturgeon has brought Scotland
aye, nicola sturgeon ate my gerbil, the basturt 🙂
Personally I don’t think you should lace someone’s boots. Wear slip-ons. Still shouting abuse doesn’t help. Each to their own castanets.
Hard to ”lace his boots ” – the troglodyte dwells in Bath – Thank God !
It is my intention to arrange for a T shirt to be printed with the legend, MINDLESS BLABBERING DRONE emblazoned across the chest, which I shall wear with enormous pride abroad in the highways and byways of God’s Little Acre.
You flatter me, ‘castanet2020’

They will need to change the legislation allowing Northern Ireland a referendum on Independence from every 7 years to 20 years as well then. I don’t see that happening.
Goalpost moving is exactly what they are all about, they’re only nervous about it becoming too obvious to too many people.
”Moving the goalposts” ? They bought the f*cking stadium and are attempting to evict US !
Campbell and many of his ilk went against the brief of Alex Salmond and cost the Alba Party big time.
I would imagine that Salmond is feeling more than a bit pissed off with him.
Strange, as Campbell was the instigator of the second vote party thinking,
He seriously miss read the mood of the Scots
They always say that when you start believing what they are writing about you in the papers you should beware.
He was clearly looking for an escape route excuse and lined up WGD in his sights.
Living in Bath he clearly has his finger on the Scottish pulse.
Strange, as Campbell was the instigator of the second vote party thinking,
no he want, it was me
but i agree, campbell and his troglodytes were responsible for poisoning the tactical vote last week.
hell mend him. the alba party didnt support him and wished he hadnt supported them

Well, the Dissolution and Calling of Parliament Bill to scrap fixed five-year Parliamentary terms for one thing and the underwhelming nature of the whole Queen’s Speech for another.”..

Looks like a set up, Paul. I think ‘they’ got to Campbell as well and managed (by whatever mean) to compromise him. This is his (‘their’) parting shot before Campbell is decommissioned, having served his time/purpose up to SE21. Looks like you are now in their sights.
Now where’s me tinfoil hat?
Go easy.
Rumour has it that as a payoff he will be seated next to Baroness /Col Davidson soon !
Lord Rev Stewed of Bathistan .
When we compare Westminster mandates with Holyrood mandates we need to, as Boris Johnson likes to have the Queen say, ‘level up the system’. The valid comparison is constituency seats and majorities, the list system seems to be have been mostly created to provide perpetual constituency unionist rejects with an employment opportunity and ensure Westminster’s voice is still represented in Scotland.
To all the Lost Boys popping up here,
Sarwar Dross Rennie Jack and Murray are the Field Bosses hired by their English Massahs and issued with bull whips to make sure the rest of us still work the crops, ‘jump down, turn ’round. pick a bale o’ cotton’, or a punnet of strawberries, or a grouse carcass splattered with the pellets from a double barrelled shotgun of a Fat Assed Filthy Rich noble or banker up from the City for a ‘ordinary week-end shootin’ party’, to quote queen Elizabeth the Second, queen of England’s son Andrew, best buddy of paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
That would be Andrew, one of the heirs of Auld Lizzie, her Great Loftiness ‘We’, to whom our new MSPs are forced by law to swear or attest allegiance today, otherwise they will not be ‘allowed’ to sit in Holyrood, and serve the people of Scotland, the sovereign people of our nation,
Thus my vote was meaningless, I am to bow down to Prince Andrew, a subordinate serf to the Saxe Coburg gang, who still ‘rule over’ us, with the backing of the Brit Establishment, and a mighty Armed Force of land air and sea enforcers.
This is what is happening today.
I don’t give a Lib Dem Lost Deposit about the musings of a blogger elsewhere.
Go away and prise the black cream from ‘neath your toenails with a cocktail stick, and slither back beneath the putrid murky waters of the primordial swamp from which you crawled circa October 2014.
You have lost the day.
And what does Jack think ?
Oops, did it again.
As most are probably aware, I clack before I think. Perhaps I should pause and spend a few hours editing my contribution, weighing up each word, search for the bon mot, use a dictionary now and then, and even check that I am using my a/c when I post.
Not much fun in that…
If it were my Everlovin’ who was posting (that’s never going to happen btw.,) then I would of course agree with every word she said, as any dutiful Life Partner would, she being the only living soul to whom any wise being pledges allegiance, I’d venture.
I actually thought there was a new poster on WGD with a great turn of phrase 🙂

‘Nine investigations into misconduct: is Johnson on his last political life?’
https://westcountrybylines.co.uk/nine-investigations-into-misconduct-is-johnson-on-his-last-political-life/
Petra, this is the man whom Dross and Jack and Mundell look to for leadership.
I wonder if Dross will look to an Aberdeen Millionaire Blue Tory donor for cash to hire a nanny for his weans?
Johnson is by any standards a corrupt human being, yet Ian Murray Anas Sawar, Alistair Carmichael Willie Rennie have had nothing to say about these nine open goals…I wonder why?
Because they are Yoons…and England’s occupancy of Scotland comes before exposing corruption, scandal or fascism.
In any other walk of life, Johnson would have been sacked for his dodgy finances at the very least.
I’d love to see the Child Support Agency’s file on the great child spawner.
It’s clear now why Ruth Davidson wanted out of Holyrood and a comfy seat somewhere in Westminster. She wanted her nose in that extra curricular income activity so worshipped by the Tories, secured one before her robe was even donned. I believe this was tried at Holyrood but the stink it created made her decide the future lay elsewhere, Ka-Ching!
The New Statesman article says “unionists should….demand a coherent prospectus for independence as a precondition of a new referendum.”
There is no need to demand! The unionists are not in charge. The SNP are not stupid!
Nicola Sturgeon in the election campaign just held and in interviews since she won, has repeatedly said that she and the SNP would put together a similar document to they had in the run up to Indy1, explaining all about currency, borders etc.
Do these so called journalists never listen, or are they just deaf? Makes me angry … aaargh
3 people have been greatly impacted by this “allegation” . WGD, Campbell and most of all the ‘alleged victim’. You state the accuser was an enemy of Campbell, yet you went straight to the ‘alleged victim’ regardless and the rest is the shit-storm that resulted.
By your own admission you caused this ‘alleged victim’ personal distress. Plus, like or hate Campbell you knew he was bound to retaliate.
Only person that gained anything was the false witness and accuser but you keep them anonymous after the fact. Curious.
You call Campbell a bully – maybe he is, but he certainly would not let such a set of events go quietly and I guess most prominent bloggers including WGD wouldn’t either if the situation was reversed. Nevertheless, you started the fire not him.
In the meantime key proponents of indy are being taken of the board one after the other, and indy not one step forward. So who is gaining?
The sane ?
Mainly people who are not raging bigots are gaining.
Let’s hope these disruptive refugees find another place to vent their SNP bad rhetoric.
These refugees from “another place” are part of the reason Mr Salmond’s party didn’t gain any traction in the election. Who would want to vote for someone who vents their vile vituperative spleen as we’ve seen from some of today’s contributors.
I’m an SNP member only because realistically they are our only route to independence. The sort of shite some of these people spout precluded any possibility of me voting otherwise with my second vote.
I’m not a “my party right or wrong” kindly person. So can we not just get back to discussing independence and how we get there? Not my kind of independence or anyone else’s kind of independence. Please remember who our enemies are : Fat sleazy Johnston and his regime.
I hear you. I gave Alba a shot, but they fell slap bang on their arse on the first outing. I won’t do that again! The brand is ruined. End of story.
They got my vote because I wanted to give the SNP leadership a nudge: get moving on Indy while Scots remember all we’ve lost to the Brexit Tories, and, for so many of us, *who* we’ve lost as well. Indy went above 50% in polls in 2020 because of the shamelessly inept way the Tory government ruled over us and against us. Strike while that iron’s still hot!
But yes, my vote was a wasted vote, like every vote for Alba. Lesson learned. Use the heid!
So now it’s back to waiting for Nicola to decide for us. As Lesley Riddoch put it at length, here:
https://www.thenational.scot/news/19298524.lesley-riddoch-time-name-date-unite-ensure-victory-yes/
Well said for speaking up about that sir
I couldn’t give a s**t about any party. Indy first, and then let’s see the state of things. The SNP are a means to an end. As are the Greens, and if push ever comes to shove, any other Indy parties.
People need to start focussing on what side of the divide they’re on. For Indy or not. No probs with unionists who want a union for whatever reason they want. Opinions vary. However, Indy folk stirring the s***e can do one.
That goes double for individuals and specific political issues that some might divide over. I don’t care a scuttering f**k. Indy first. Get your priorities sorted people, or face 50 years of Westminster.
I agree Naina Tal – I thought of voting for the ISP because I am opposed to the SelfID agenda and the HCB (which, of course, rules out voting for the Greens). But once it was taken over by Alex Salmond and his acolytes I decided to vote SNP 1 & 2.
The vitriol that pours out from some of those StuAnon types is proof that their motives are destructive. Either Brit Nat trolls or the tools of BritNat trolls. Complete ignoral I think.
“Kind of person” though I think of myself as kindly too….

I stopped reading/receiving the daily email either late last year or early this year. It just got too much. It was exhausting.
I honestly don’t know what’s happened to him the past couple (?) of years. He’s gone from being an excellent and forensic critic and analyst of Unionist lies/propaganda to, well, a sad state of affairs.

SC at WoS?
I totally agree 👋
It’s not the first time Campbell has been exposed as a hypocrite, I’m sure it won’t be the last.
actually, with his announcement to retire, i was hoping it was.
btw paul, now he’s gone, his followers will be looking for new pastures. keep yer block finger at the ready
the blood is literally pouring out o’ my keyboard daisy…….

Close the door on the way out!
It´s such a pity that this feud has broken out but it reflects the history of our country. Internal squabbles have always been our downfall. You and Campbell both played outstanding roles in the referendum campaign. You were very different. He was never happier than when analyzing polls and statistics, detailing the lies of the unionist media, while you were a wordsmith, eloquently demolishing the “arguments” and threats of the unionist side in a style that was biting and funny. I always thought of you both as the yin and yan of Scottish independence.
Let’s not swoon into the condition of belief, carefully fostered by our Brit Nat opponents, that the Scots are too tribal to collaborate on any major undertaking. It’s not true. We don’t all squabble amongst ourselves and “snatch defeat from the jaws of victory”. That’s a British myth.
Most of us are totally focused on achieving our independence and persuading our fellow Scots to vote for self determination. The over arching priority is to get free from Westminster control.
I have to admire the Brit 77th brigade, or whatever they call themselves now, for almost succeeding to take down the two most powerful SNP leaders, and the most read Indy blogs. But they didn’t manage to get rid of Nicola Sturgeon and WGD is still operating.
So onwards to the goal. The new parliament is being signed in today. It’s looking good.
No doubt they will continue to achieve their objective. So let’s frustrate that.
continue to try to achieve their objective
When do they choose the new speaker?
They reconvene at 2.00pm i.e. now and then submit their nominations I suppose the count will be this afternoon.
Thanks.
No video atm but there is at least one nomination, Alison Johnston.
Announcements
Election of the Presiding Officer
The Presiding Officer wishes to announce that the following Member has been nominated—
Nominee: Alison Johnstone MSP
Proposer: Beatrice Wishart MSP
Seconder: Ruth Maguire MSP
That’s very interesting to see a Green MSP proposed, I believe that she will be the new presiding officer as the SNP are unlikely to want a Unionist in the role, with an SNP seconder maybe it’s already a done deal?
I’m speculating of course, but it will be interesting to see now if anyone else throws their hat into the ring.
looks like the new team in Holyrood had this planned some time ago. If so, we should be very encouraged indeed
She was the only nomination and is the new presiding officer.
One yes vote less.
Makes no difference at all Hamish, the SNP have 64 votes and all the rest put together including the Greens have 64 votes.
The Presiding Officer will have an important role in deciding whether or not the Referendum Bill is within the legislative powers of the Scottish Parliament.
..but it leaves the SNP with a majority , does it not ? If needed !
You are ABSOLUTELY correct regarding that Brit fostered myth.
It is all too easy to fall into the trap of being defined by people who despise us, particularly when they have control of the narrative. Reject it because it is completely untrue. We Scots are thinking people, we don’t uncritically accept things without seeing evidence to back it up – we have that in common with thinking people the world over. We have a highly educated population so we will on occasion appear to be hyper sceptical. The way we are is positive not negative. It is the basis of our demand for independent control of our own country. It is why we will win and simultaneously stick to our civilised values.
My comment above was in response to Capella’s comment at 2.09pm.
Absolutely, two powerhouses we owe much to. Thanks to these guys our family and friends are so much better informed than pre- 2014 referendum.
Well said Daisy , though , like my own comment above , it’s wasted on those here who are incapable of applying critical thought and , if necessary , ethical judgement on their heroes . Hope to catch up with you elsewhere my fried . Yr still a ” Sex Goddess ” in my eyes – lol xxx
”My Fried ” ”Sex Goddess ” … Hmmm , you belong on the WoS site , sir !
PHarvey its good to hear everyones opinions even those we do not like , even those who castigate us , people in the Scottish independence movement have been set against each other for various reasons over a couple of years now , the Alex Salmond case was the main instigation then Nicola Sturgeons stance on the AS case was another and then the gender recognition review caused division then the ALBA party further exacerbated the situation , we even see well appreciated intelligent bloggers going against each other , my opinion is that it is all unavoidable , people have wildly differing opinions about all these matters and because they are all linked in their own way to Scottish independence and the individual beliefs that people in Scotland hold its quite normal to have such varying views.
The internet has given us the gift of direct communication so people with wildly differing views can now communicate and argue their differences , its good and i think we all learn a bit as we go.
What we do not want is for these discussion forums to shut down , if they do , even those we personally do not like , the loss is not just to those who support it but to Scottish independence and Scotland as a whole.
I think WOS went overboard about gender recognition but there are a lot of people steadfastly against it so that should not be ignored .
I really hope WOS reconsiders and returns
I hope it returns to concentrate on what it used to do , expose the lies and deceit of westminster and its allies.
I hope WGD gets well and continues to provide the clever interesting factual magazine , its well deserved reputation is second to none.
Scotgoespop is superb and a steady ship in these rough political seas .
Barrheadboy has another different oultlook
Munguins republic too
We need them all do we not ?
Bit hysterical to be honest Daisy, outrage appears to based on the assumption that the allegation was false and malicious, or more correctly Paul should have known it was false and malicious. Honestly, that’s a ridiculous position to take and unjustifiable. Had the allegations been true and Paul had done nothing, what would your reaction have been when you found out he had foreknowledge of it.
‘Daisy Walker’?
Why not ‘Tulip Tip-Toer’?
Why not Rev. Stu Campbell , eh ?

You got that one right Daisy.

Well it looks as though the downside to Campbell heading off into the sunset is that his acolytes will be looking for a new home. Let’s hope that it’s not here as I don’t want to see this site being turned into the h*llhole that ultimately became WoS.
There’s still plenty of other sites whose sole purpose for existence is to attack Sturgeon – not including the DM, the DE, the DT and the Tories which they quote!
There’s Jigger and Jagger for instance, as in “Jigger, oi. Jagger, oi. Jigger Jagger Jigger Jagger, oi oi oi!”.
Petra , will you vet people who come from WOS to this blog , how will you decide who gets in and who doesnt ?
Hi Alex et al. The full programme with Professor Curtice.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000w3t9/debate-night-series-3-12052021
Thanks Petra but I’m not sure I could stomach watching the entire programme 🙂
Alex the show was fair, professor Curtice put the pompous Tory in his place more than once. Actually watchable for a change and audience more supportive of a new referendum than not.
The last line is….
Why does the so called feud exist at all if everyone is genuine about supporting Independence first
And that’s the problem isn’t it, the majority of the people of Scotland did not like Stuart Campbell and didn’t believe he is or was genuine, exactly in the same way as the majority didn’t believe Alex Salmond was genuine so they made their feelings known by rejecting them online and at the ballot box
Those who supported these figures desire to blame the majority for their minority view and they became as unpleasant in their attitudes to others as the people they supported, and with every angry word uttered by this minority the majority firmed up the view that they were right about these people all along, and they were right because last night and todays comments from those minority are reinforcing that belief even more
If you want to engage with the public on an issue you think is important it’s desirable not to begin by insulting their intelligence ridiculing and launching aggressive attacks on them, nobody sells any product or ideas with tactics like that unless they are ego filled angry people who feel themselves superior to others, which is another unfortunate character trait the majority of people don’t like
Stuart Campbell picked a much loved political figure, also a woman, and relentlessly attacked her mercilessly on a daily basis calling into question her veracity, her character, her motives and if that wasn’t bad enough he engaged in Eva Petulengro style mind reading inventions of what she was *thinking* then printed it as though it were fact by using such despicable Daily Mail and Express style tactics as “I’ll leave it to the readers to decide on that one” or similar such slimy weasel words
The supporters of Stuart Campbell who my guess is 99% of whom have never met him or will ever meet him in any personal capacity (because he does not make himself available for that) are basing their belief that he may be genuine because at one time he appeared to support the same cause as them, but I remind those folk that he himself declared that his job description of himself was a *subversive* that description of oneself is not one that lends itself to trust in any individual let alone in the world of politics which in itself is a devious business to begin with, and any individual wishing to sell themselves as trustworthy really shouldn’t be mentioning the fact that they actually don’t describe themselves thusly
All these things aside, a people and a country decide what they want by majority, that’s democracy, what Stuart Campbell was selling wasn’t even close to democracy it was angry student childish malcontented personal gripery with added QAnon style rhetoric thrown in, so anything he touched was doomed to failure by that attitude, so the idea that SNP supporters were in someway responsible for the Salmond political effort losing votes, those who supported Stuart Campbell should look to him and themselves as to why they lost so badly not the rest of us who continued to support what was not what he decreed we should because he claimed to be brainier than we “morons”
The majority are not the problem, the minority were the architects of their own downfall and not likely they will be forgiven for it because they may have cost the rest of us the small amount of votes or a denial to vote at all that we needed because of the turmoil they created
They took out their own gun and shot themselves in their own foot to make a point and the rest of us are not the political A&E
Totally agree!👍
Dr Jim,
You said “ , the majority of the people of Scotland did not like Stuart Campbell “
Come on , thats nonsense
The majority of people of Scotland dont even know who he is
He has a lot of followers , the most of any bloggers in Scotland
Election of presiding officer. Meeting is suspended till 2.15 – presumably counting:
https://www.scottishparliament.tv/meeting/election-of-the-presiding-officer-may-13-2021
Alison Johnston was the only nominee for Presiding Officer. MSPs are now voting for or against. Looks like a shoo-in for AJ.
I think she will make a very good presiding officer, she always done well at FM questions.
I agree. She does have a certain gravitas that is needed in the role. OTOH she is the most progressive Green now that Andy Wightman has gone, although Lorna Slater has been pretty impressive in interviews and even Patrick Harvie surpassed himself during the VONC debate.
Still, better than a Unionist.
Today the Sec of State against Scotland Alister Jack is claiming that although the Tories lost the election in Scotland despite their manifesto clearly stating NO to indyref2 that he can read the minds of the SNP and Green voters and concludes that they did not vote for Independence they voted SNP and Green for entirely other reasons and only one third of Scots actually want Independence
Here we go again with another disingenuous liar who claims he can read minds
Ergo, people did not vote for Brexit in 2019, they voted for the Tories, so Brexit should be put off indefinitely. What’s good for the goose etc…
No big deal Paul.
An obviously contrived attack on you from the increasingly machiavellian Wings unsavouries.
Really unpleasant characters.
the dug’s blog has washed up loads of the terminally butthurt from wos the day.
i’m loving every minute of this
Shrodinger- in your world of the cat is both dead and alive. Could it be we are also independent? Asking for a sad/ happy person
Could it be we are also independent? all things considered, in the uncollapsed 11th dimensional probability wave, where all possible outcomes are possibilities, unfortunately not.
however, the departure of wingsovertheterminallybutthurt.com has at least made independence more probable 🙂
epic trolling to be had in the other place today 🙂
🤭
schrodingers cat , now thats nonsense , WOS was the best independence site for a long time and was really good at what it did.
It went crazy about gender recognition review then went overboard about NS not supporting AS
We need WOS back doing what it used to do so well , exposing the lies of westminster and its helpers

Global multinationals at play ‘downsizing’; they do quite literally take the biscuit.
When London sneezes Scotland caches pneumonia.
To those who may have unease at my frantic description of Scotland being held behind an Iron Curtain, a militarily conquered colony of the English Iron Heel oligarchy, the 27 borders of our continent closed to us by Priti Patels’ Homeland security, today’s chilling events must surely demonstrate that the occupation of Scotland by England is about to gather pace.
Today’s stunt was designed to remind us rebellious Scots that England Rules, we bow down and accept our humble status as a conquered race.
I repeat, it is going to get very dark, very soon now.
They’ll be back next week, mob handed, with water cannon and rubber bullets.
So, let’s concentrate on real life from now on in.
Reblogged this on Ramblings of a now 60+ Female.
not a big fan of conspiracy theories, but i think stu was knobbled. even while blocking all those you supported him while encouraging unionist trolls, much of his output was clearly illogical to the point of using the very tactics he pointed out to his supporters that the unionists used, eg headline not reflection the story below.
if im right, then it was his handlers who shutdown wos today and the smear against you is a parting gift from his handlers not stu. watch your back paul.
we will soon see, keep yer eyes out for “bath blogger arrested for porn on his PC” or some such accusation, then we will know
My instinct is that you are correct. The alternative – that his behaviour has just been his uncompromised behaviour – would be disappointing.
WOS went off the rails
But could come back

Big shout out to the mighty residents of Pollokshields in Glasgow for seeing off the English governments Home Office, and well done Police Scotland for staying out of it and not offering them assistance
What happened today is proof positives that people power could now see off the Home Office whenever they need to, what do the government in England do if Scotland’s Polis won’t help them ? send a tank?
send a tank? dont give ’em ideas
Impressive.
I only saw clips on twitter but the crowd was huge, the message unequivocal and Amer Anwar there in van with the asylum seekers as they were set free. Glasgow can be proud today.
what a contrast to whats happening down south. this was a deliberate action by westminster, no question.
i doubt bbc scotland will report it
On a Muslim religious holiday in Nicola Sturgeons constituency when the FM was being sworn in at Holyrood
Coincidence? not on all of our nellies, planned deliberate political attempt to undermine the result of the election by imposing their great British might over the authority of the FM and Scotland
Today was a Priti Patel exhibition of “I’ll show em I’ll put Sturgeon and Scotland in their place”
They lost again and I just love it to bits
I watched that on Reporting Scotland Dr Jim and felt so proud of the Glaswegians, hundreds of them, who went to the men’s rescue. I was also wondering how that would have gone down if it had been shown in England? Flabbergasted? What a difference in attitude between many north and south of the border.
It was spoiled to some extent when RS followed that news item up with the Corona Virus being rife in the southside of Glasgow and targeted the mosque 🙄 with little to no mention of Moray. They harped on about the virus in the area being the Indian variant and then an expert mentioned that they are still waiting to get verification of such.

‘My Medical Records.’
http://www.craigmurray.org.uk/
I’m quite sure the UK government would give him no consideration that he was somehow unfit for work so does he believe that declaring medical records after the event mitigates as an exemption from application of the law in the way every other citizen is subject to, I don’t think anyone in the legal profession is sentencing him to withdrawal of medical treatment that everyone else has as a human right
For old times sake had a look btl on last ever WoS post.
Endless Yoon trolling along with last few malingering groupies commenting.
What a sad demise.
One shining light though was a fulla dubbed “pixal” with a forensic analysis which Stuart in his prime might have produced.
Get him on here!
No, but s/he might be very well received if they hosted a new site dedicated to doing exactly that (and free of all the hateful BTL dross on WaS).
Neither of you worked it out yet then? All the clues are there in plain site LOL
Is it you ? 😂😂😂
No 🙂

So I had to go and read through the pixal comments. First time in months – so thx for that Alex – not. You’re right, it is spelt out SC.
😁
SC………… you mean Stuart Campbell !…………. who wad hae thunk it 🙂
👍
Before finally leaving the subject of this toxic parting gift from SoB, this seems an apposite moment to mention that on my last visit to WaS (some time ago) I was dismayed to encounter a posting by you, Daisy, that is the most scurrilous and despicable espèce puante de merde that I have ever read by anyone there, in which you carefully stayed just inside the line of legality while yet evidently trying your very hardest to cast despicable and entirely unsubstantiated aspersions on the behaviour of our FM.
So you are the very last person to come on here – or anywhere else in the indysphere for that matter – and pontificate about the behaviour of anyone else. That posting of yours was so far beyond the pale of fair comment that frankly you have made yourself a pariah, and you could only serve the independence movement going forward by taking up some more personally productive activity like gardening or sweeping the streets, and making no further contribution whatever to the independence debate until it finally dawns on you that this kind of unseemly public behaviour can only serve to alienate and deter the very people we now very much need to convert.
A lot of ‘new faces ‘ on here today . Sadly , too many with Giant Redwoods on their shoulders re. the demise of the blogger from Bath .
He has ‘gone ‘ now ( he assures us – I don’t for a moment believe this to be the case ) so perhaps we can get back to focusing on the only issue that matters – Independence .
Too many of the poorest people in this country , despite many of them NOT voting in this and other elections , need a Government which is focused on improving the plight of ordinary people and not lining the pockets of the few .
Many thought, myself included , that when Labour became the UK Government in 1997 that we would enter a period of ”levelling up” ( if that is not a tainted phrase ) which was sorely needed for the UK never mind Scotland .
However , between Blair and Brown we got the illusion of things improving for a while – but we never got the radical changes to undo the Thatcher Years and the fundamental damage her philosophy had visited on the UK working classes .
Since then things have progressively worsened for the poorest and most vulnerable in our society and I am reminded of something the Welsh Windbag , Neil Kinnock , another Labour traitor in the House of Lords , once said of an impending Tory election victory :
” I warn you not to be ordinary
I warn you not to be young
I warn you not to fall ill
I warn you not to be old .”
This is the reason why Scottish Independence has NEVER been more vital to the ordinary people of this country .
We can NEVER rely on the Labour Party at Westminster to offset the damage done to ordinary lives by the Tories – they had ample opportunity but proved , in the end , to be little better .
We CAN rely on the Tories doing what Tories do , whether at Westminster or at Holyrood .
We have to do these things ourselves .
Granted there is NO guarantee that the Governments in an Independent Scotland will be any better but we do KNOW that if we stay in this benighted Union it will NOT get any better .
So the time to pull together is now . Enough of the back-stabbing , front -stabbing , arguing , name calling ( I have been as guilty as anyone ) .
Know your enemy – and it should not be anyone who wants an Independent Scotland .
As Paul K. has repeatedly asked – Let’s not do the work of the unionists for them . If you can’t add something to the cause on this blog then it is not for you .
Great post James and like you that’s entirely the reason that I support Independence because only then can we hope to make a difference. We can all get carried away with petty arguing and i too would like it to end. I hope we can be better than this and all get behind the cause rather than focus on the vehicle that takes us there.
Excellent post James. Let’s not let this site disintegrate into a hateful arena that sees us all battling and being nasty towards one another, We may have differing opinions but can agree to disagree rather than becoming a site that’s off-putting to soft No’s.
………………………..
Question Time is due to come on. Kate Forbes is a panellist.
Indeed, James.
Evenin’ all.Just bringing myself up to speed regarding yesterday and todays events.
Having perused Campbell’s ‘longest suicide note in history’…I was reminded of that often recounted bunker scene from ‘Downfall.’
Someone stick it up here one more time eh?
F.A.O: James Mills.
I posted my initial comment unaware of your own post.
I agree with your sentiments.
Glasgow sent a message to Priti Patel today, Scotland’s country, Scotland’s people, Scotland’s choice. They will not like it but having MP’s from another country deciding who can be Scots is not acceptable. I wonder what they will do next time, armed security I expect. Their timing was quite deliberate on the opening day of the Scottish Parliament, I suspect they will escalate things to prove they are in control, they may even send up D.Ross with a flag and a red card.
https://www.itv.com/news/2021-05-13/how-people-power-on-the-streets-of-glasgow-forced-a-home-office-immigration-u-turn
This protest today by the people of Glasgow to stop two asylum seekers being taking in to detention is a massive blow to the authority of the Home Office immigration enforcement officers to do their dirts work here in Scotland.
It is a slap in the face to Priti Patel who tried to pull a fast one on the day that the Scottish Parliament welcomed its new MSP’s and elected the Presiding Officer. This will hurt in Westminster. it will hurt a lot as they see their so called authority being undermined.
I don’t imagine that this is the last of it and we can expect more clashes in the not too distant future.
So many Scots flooding onto the streets in such a short time may put the wind up them. A wee reminder that the Scots when pushed too far can become extremely militant.
If the Scots ever get the taste in their mouth attitudes South of the Border might well change
Alex: I could not agree more with your post and that will certainly sting in Westminster.
I do wonder where the Home Office officials who arrived in the van were during this blockade?
Were they stuck in their van or in a secure “British location” on the phone to Priti about the bad Scotch folk and could they maybe get a helicopter out from the top of Pacific Quay.
Is anyone else watching QT? If so do you notice a Scottish woman who was actually on that programme within the last couple of weeks or so. Second row in from the right. Second row down. Auburn hair. Anti-Independence of course.
strange that she was chosen to answer when she is the only scot in the audience. how did the chair know this? coincidence?
Sorry Cat…there was a Scots guy responding to the same question(pro-indy).
aye, ah know, but i thought the panel and the chair person didnt know this info?
Anyone with a scrap of knowledge of QT knows they regularly allow unionists on the show over Indy folk. It’s a farce of a show anyway. When was the last time a government spokesperson was harangued by the audience? 1990s? 1980s? Iraq War, maybe?
Is Mentorn still producing this programme Statgeek?
No idea. Stopped watching it in 2017-ish, after the eejits voted to reduce SNP seats from 56 to 35 on the back of Brexit. The audiences were pro-activists and/or loons (and not the Aberdonian sort).
Yep…I clocked her right away Petra…..doing a search to identify her.
She was on QT recently explaining that her company supply food to the hospitality industry. She stuck in my mind due to her vehemence against independence and Nicola Sturgeon. Are the same panellists on QT every week now or was that just another wee ”coincidence?”
The panel are chosen from a standing group of 150.
Many have been on before.
Pro independence guy on last night.
Also a drunk looking pro unionist woman who made a bit of a fool of herself
Ok thanks for the info, gullaneno4.
You still endure QT, I salute you indefatigability (has anyone seen gorgeous since last Thursday, I believe he was last seen on a train reading The Cat in the Hat). I don’t have enough years left to waste on BBC political output, and I really need to be careful with my blood pressure at my age.
I didnt say I enjoy QT jfngw but I’m sure you’re aware of the maxim..”Keep your friends close…and your enemies closer!”
Always good to know what their ‘spiel’ is.
Hi WGD let’s move onto fighting the unionists attempt to thwart democracy.
“Scotland, my land” words from the movie Braveheart spoken by actor Patrick McGee as Edward Longshanks the King of England at that time, and I’m now totally convinced it’s the only part of that movie the people of England watched and heard, because I’ve just watched some of Question time till I could take no more of listening to the population of another country continually refer to Scotland as their country and how Nicola Sturgeon wants to *break up* their country and demand to know what and how we the people of Scotland who live here and pay our taxes here are going to do with their country once we break it up
Is it irony, is it an ill educated population of England who doesn’t understand that the UK is not a country, Britain is not a country, is it fear of loss, I don’t believe it’s any of those things, I totally believe the people of England cannot comprehend that everything and everybody in the British Isles doesn’t belong to them, they are unable to grasp the concept that Scotland is not theirs
They bandy numbers around, they bring up moments in history that suit their argument, they present obstacles that do not currently exist then apply psychic knowledge to that reckoning that such obstacles will definitely materialise while all the time forcing the argument they want to pursue away from the original topic, which was is and will always be, is Scotland a country or is it a colony or territory of England, because if the answer is Scotland is indeed a country then what the hell are all these thick brained uneducated English people arguing with us about
It’s none of their damn business whatever the hell Scotland does is or will become, if English people want to be heard any further on this issue I suggest they up sticks move to Scotland pay tax like the rest of us who live here or shut the F**K up and stay out of our business, they’ll be demanding to own our houses next or bring back Prima Nocta , maybe Bollox Johnson will give them a referendum on that, I’ll just sit in my cage and wait until England makes a decision on that shall I
There there now England it really is something personal
Have to say Dr Jim….Bucklands ‘my country’ quote got me out my seat as well.
He’s Welsh by the way!…lol
Longshanks was played by Patrick McGoohan.
Be seeing you!
Wis he no a number in Wales
Didn’t like QT having Brillo’s GB News rep on their frontline panel.
The british state promoting their own.
Noticed QT had a GB News rep on frontline panel tonight.
british state promoting their own.
Anum Qaisar-Javed just became the new mp for airdrie and shotts
I see majority was reduced……blue tories love-bombing red tories again I suspect.
Just the turnout, it was only 34.3% compared to 62.1% in 2019. The SNP share of the vote actually increased. Ignore the ‘reduced majority’ headlines, it was always going to be down with such a low turnout, too close to last weeks election probably.
You are correct though, the Tory and LibDem share of the vote went down and the Labour went up. Would still have been a majority of over 3,000 if the turnout was the same as the GE.
Reduced majority.
“We lost, but can’t face it.”
We live in a hostile environment to everyone who’s not considered English now because it appears we’re only *allowed* to call ourselves Scottish by permission of England, but we’re not really Scottish we’re colonists of their land of Scotland and can be ignored threatened even disavowed at will by England which is the real country’s will if they so choose
UK Britain England Scotland Wales Northern Ireland (except they really don’t care about NI) all one entity owned by anyone in England but not ever Scottish people
They separated us from 27 countries we actually like and they call us the separatists
The FM is going to have to move pretty firmly on this now because the *other guys* in Scotland don’t want to sit quiet for much longer, I’m sure she knows that though, the letter’s gone in
Imagine sending a van with “Home Office” on it, into Glasgow.
The mind-boggling arrogance of that.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E1S3wuSWQAILgoH?format=jpg&name=medium
I watched QT simply because I saw Kate Forbes was on – I should have learned by now!!
The ‘fascination’ for me was the spotting all the ‘plants’, the original old lady chosen to put the first question was most interesting. Her facial expressions throughout the remainder of the programme told everyone that she was superior – and ,later, as she was allowed to express her views on Scotland it was the tired old “too poor, too small and too stupid” – with most of the rest of the ‘audience’ applauding her.
This QT edition should be made compulsory viewing for all Scots, and hopefully would let them see what your average English person think of us – they think Scots are their own property and couldn’t function without ‘goode olde Englande’.
Wake up, Scotland.
What really gets to me is that following them spouting their view of Scotland and Independence, along the lines of being too wee, poor and stupid, they sit back with a self-satisfied I know it all and that’s you been told smirk on their face. And as for Fiona Bruce as soon as she thinks that someone like Kate Forbes is going to come out with some financial facts she shuts people like her up by using one technique or another. You could also see right off, following Lisa Nandy speaking, that the ”audience” was predominantly Tory. In other words nothing has changed.
I thought Kate Forbes came across extremely well, Nandy and Buckland were as you would expect.
It’s amazing really that there are still any PSBs left in Scotland, since it was clear from 2014 that when it looked like we might actually choose independence, suddenly we were descended upon by English Gov trusties like “Nick The Liar” Robinson to put us back in our proper place. Suddenly it wasn’t “our right to choose” (what they expected us to do anyway), it was England’s position at home and abroad that really mattered.
As I’ve said before, it’s England’s self-regard that is their main sticking point, and it crosses the entire political spectrum.
In the opinion of the english home office, yesterday’s peaceful demo was a mob.
In the opinion of many btl commenters from England it’s time for us to get our Independence and for a hard border to be erected now 😀.
Do all the people resident in england who want to rebuild Hadrian’s wall not realise that it runs from the south shore of the Solway to wallsend on the north shore of the Tyne.
Not a problem for me greater Scotland here we come.
Perhaps a canal to connect the two would be a good plan for the new ferries and other shipping.
No, they likely don’t. Ignorance down south is rife. But personally, I wouldn’t mind taking the Geordies on board if they wanted.

Hi Petra😊
The british will be afraid of the Greens as they will be very important in normalising the notion of independence.
They help neuter the vile “nationalist” line of attack the brit nats so love to use.
That’s a very good point, actually.
Spot on Dakk. It makes it difficult, if not impossible, for them to insinuate that the only people who support Scottish Independence are the crazy, divisive, extremely Baad SNP brigade 😀.
If SLAB had any sense (40% of their voters are already on board) they’d get on the wagon too.
Ultimately…I think they will but not until they are staring oblivion.in the face.
Nicola Sturgeon is in Holyrood because she was chosen directly by the people to represent them. D.Ross is in Holyrood because he was selected by the party to be top of their list, he has been voted for directly by exactly 0% of the electorate, he didn’t even have the bottle to stand in a constituency.
When I was young I travelled to many countries and they all had borders and nobody cared or expected any different, we changed our money into the currency of whichever country we went to and nobody cared, we were told by border controls to walk here or there show our passports and travel documents and nobody cared, because my mother was English we travelled up and down to England regularly over the border which was invisible but nevertheless definitely existed and we were constantly reminded of it because we had to change our currency to go there too, because at that time English shopkeepers and even petrol stations would sometimes refuse to accept the Scottish pound or if they did they would value it quite unlawfully at 19 shillings and sixpence, sixpence less that it was worth or they just wouldn’t accept our money, and everybody bloody cared
At that time in Scotland the *British National* anthem was played in cinemas following every film so just as the credits began to make their way up the screen there was a mad scramble to the exit door by almost every patron in the cinema leaving only ever a hapless half dozen standing with their hands over their heart miming the words to the tune because they didn’t make the exit quickly enough so were stuck there and suffered through the ritual in order not to offend the two or three actual British feeling folk there
Had there been a powerful SNP at that time Scotland would have been Independent by now because barely a soul in Scotland could have been convinced not to leave the English Empire, millions of Scots back then were Scottish Nationalists but just didn’t know they were because to a man woman and child the disrespecting gloating smirking authority of England was unfettered, they knew they were in charge and they knew there wasn’t a damn thing Scotland could or would ever do to change that, they were then what they are becoming again, only this time they know Scotland is pushing back and the world is watching us do it
The time of which I speak as a young man was just after the war when England crowed it’s loudest and claimed victorious justification in killing as many Germans as they could without mention that most of those Germans were just like us, a people who had been invaded by their own leaders and had sleepwalked into allowing those people to do to them what the English regime do to us in Scotland
America just got rid of Donald Trump because he is one of those people, if Scotland does not rid ourselves of Boris Johnson and the authority of England we’ll have zero choice in anything the next Boris Johnson decides to do, because when you can’t control your own country there can be no future to look forward to until the next Boris Johnson and the next tells you what their vision will be for the country you live in
But it will never be you
So what are you? a colonist of an English territory or a Scots Person? Pick one, because England won’t let you have the choice in the future if you don’t choose now
It has been said before but bears repeating time and again .
The timing of the deportation raid by the UK( English ) Home Office yesterday was no accident .
I doubt that any thinking enforcement officer thought it a good idea to attempt the removal of asylum seekers at such a sensitive time .
This had all the hallmarks of the UK Government , particularly a Cabinet hardliner ( Patel ) telling her ‘Boss’ , Bojo The Clown that, they had to lay down a marker to Sturgeon/SNP/Scotland to show who was in charge .
They have been badly shaken by the Scottish Election results .
Despite all the protestations to the contrary from the Unionist politicians and their compliant lapdogs in the lamentable UK /London media they are running scared .
Time , therefore , to put the ‘Jocks’ in their place , show them who was boss !
‘Love bombing’ and throwing money at Scottish infrastructure , which was their initial reaction to the election , didn’t last long before the Jackboot Tendency won the day .
What next ?
Well they failed spectacularly in Glasgow yesterday – and in Nicola’s constituency too. Major defeat.
Well James, the election’s over now, and “playing nice” isn’t really their thing, is it? It’s more “send in the redcoats”. Unlike previous governments, they don’t seem to have any sensitivity whatever over the constitutional issue, and they’re clearly becoming seriously rattled, all of which seems to promise increasing rashness which ultimately though will only play into our hands.
More scenes from Kenmure Street showing the crowd reaction to the asylum seekers emerging from the van with Aamer Anwar. Quite extraordinary crowd support.
Hope they are still safe. https://twitter.com/ImmyKaur/status/1393101456828424193?s=20
Usual from the SNP haters (mostly Alba supporters from twitter, they are bad losers, in harmony with the yoonirati), there normal reaction is ‘why is the SNP silent on this’ (name any of their grievance subjects), now it’s ‘why are the SNP jumping on the bandwagon’.
Alba supporters? They still exist?
” Did Scotland just become an Independent country yesterday ”
Worth a wee read.

Result breakdown of the Airdrie & Shotts by-election.Courtesy of Ballotbox Scotland.
SNP ~ 10129 (46.4%, +1.3)
Labour ~ 8372 (38.4%, +6.4)
Conservative ~ 2812 (12.9%, -4.7)
Lib Dem ~ 220 (1%, -2.6)
SDP ~ 151 (0.7%, +0.7)
Unionist ~ 59 (0.3%, +0.3)
Reform UK ~ 45 (0.2%, +0.2)
UKIP ~ 39 (0.2%, +0.2)
So the Tories and Lib Dems voted Labour this time to try to defeat the SNP. But failed. 🙂
Well done Anum Quaoser-Javed.
I see the Herald are headlining this as “SNP majority falls” when in fact the SNP share of the vote has increased. It’s just that all the unionist parties have coalesced into one so the runner up naturally has more votes.
Qaisar-Javed 🙂
Yep, as usual you can see by the results of the Tories and Lib Dems where the Labour vote came from
And still they lost to the SNP
Perhaps the hardliners in London may be realising that short of sending in the army, they need Scots to cooperate with them in order to have their will done north of the border.
This is just a taste of what will come their way if they continue with London rule nonsense.
NI also coming to the boil again.
They don’t have their troubles to seek.
I suspect next time they will have a few plain clothed operatives in the crowd to instigate disruption so they can justify more direct action. They were caught out yesterday as they thought most would be focusing on Holyrood and wanted to make a point, they will be more prepared next time. Those taking part in any future protest should watch out for UK government agitators in their midst, or even the manky jackit brigade.
As Justin Bieber might have said:
If the Home Office likes, the way, it looks that much
Home, Office, you should go and love yourself
You can use another word than “love” if you like.
That boy might be smarter than I thought he was
I see David Cameron has stepped forward to take the corruption heat off the Tories. He is the perfect fall guy, no longer in government and has that Etonian ‘I don’t give a shit what you think of me, I just look at my bank balance and connections for justification’.
Check out the number of times Cameron used the get out of jail free card ‘It was my understanding’, ‘I believed at the time’…..
He is a man coached by the best legal brains that private fund holders can buy, prompted to admit nothing and deny nothing in equal measure.
If the evidence points to corruption at the very heart of Cameron’s time as PM, he can now say that he ‘misunderstood’ the implications of letting a capitalist freeloader sit behind his desk in No. 10, with Dark Money Brown Envelope promises to oil Cameron’s now very lucrative wheels as he amasses a private fortune to rival the riches of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.
I thought I’d just pop this in, Sky news reporting the educational attainment gap between rich and poor in England is 55%
Oh my what will the opposition to Scotland say now
Now that there is a collaborative blackout of the position in Scotland with regard to the pandemic, I cut and paste below the daily stats which the Brits managed to censor from our Public Broadcasting outlet, because it was too much like good news fort their liking.
“Scottish numbers: 13 May 2021
Summary
270 new cases of COVID-19 reported
25,093 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results
1.2% of these were positive
1 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive
4 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
63 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19
2,968,169 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 1,551,339 have received their second dose.”
God, it looks like we are actually getting to grips with this Covid crisis.
Indyref 2 in the first half of this parliament (sorry ‘devolved administration within Team UK’) looks perfectly doable, doesn’t it?
PS No sign of Sarwar Murray Rennie or Carmichael condemning yesterday’s Dawn Raid in Glasgow by Priti Patel’s SS Enforcers in any of of the Dead Tree Scrolls or broadcast outlets today.
They will sell out any section of the people of Scotland to save Question Time’s Union, won’t they?
Anas Sarwar particularly; shame on you, sir.
MI6 Blackshirt thugs will infiltrate the crowd next time, betcha.
Ross and Jack are hiding behind Johnson’s lush sofa, of course. A big boy was doing it and ran away, Dross?
BTW where was Dross yesterday? In Holyrood? In WM? Four jobs Dross coining it in. MSP, MP, Leader of the Jock Blue Tories, and Linesman….
As Billy Connolly recalled the night he was chatting to a sex worker in Partick.
‘Are you busy?’, the Big Yin asked.
‘Busy? I’m that busy that If I had another pair of legs, I’d open up in Edinburgh.’ came the quick reply.
Perhaps Dross has had ‘another pair of legs’ grafted on to his increasingly ballooning body?
I whizzed through last night’s QT offering on i Player.
19 out of 20 honeycombed ‘audience’, including the Jock Brit plant, and five of the panel including Bruce, asking Katie Forbes ‘Does the SNP now have a mandate for a second Referendum?’
I don’t know why any Scottish politician appears on this little fascist outlet now.
But Forbes did her best, before Bruce interrupted her reply.
It is clear that Englis folk believe that we require their ‘permission’ to dissolve the Union, going by the head shaking and clapping from this pre selected gang of middle class Brits.
We are their beaten colony, Duggers.
Beaten colony ? As in Kenmure St., Glasgow…
There is huge sympathy for Scottish Independence in England despite years of BBC constructs like QT or Daily Smell bombardment, it is only the London political classes who are still flogging this dead horse via the media, and we would be extremely foolish to believe we are the only ones to have spotted it.
Independence will be welcomed by most of England who will genuinely wish us well, in many respects it then allows if not forces England to revisit their own condition and demand reform.
This is a point Fintal o’Toole and many others have observed countless times, Scotland is moving forward however slowly at present, the only remaining question is whether England stops reversing into an Empire cul-de-sac before it’s collision with reality breaks the windows.
I was, of course, being ironic, Bob.
QT is the English Elite’s cipher to convince English viewers that we are too wee tooo ungrateful, and last night’s effort was an affront to democracy.
The hand picked ‘audience’ presented in a honeycomb of screens were drawn from one hard core segment of English society, they can all afford smart phones, and rather comfortable surroundings, you may have noted, and this is ‘sold’ to viewers by Fiona Bruce her right wing production team, and the Far Right as your typical English voter.
True
That’s not correct Jack, checking just Sarwar here’s what he tweeted yesterday:
“Anas Sarwar
@AnasSarwar
I am disgusted by the Home Office raids in Pollokshields.
It is particularly unacceptable that this is happening during a pandemic, in an area that has a spike in cases and on the day of Eid.
We need an immigration policy that is based on human dignity & human rights.
1:42 pm · 13 May 2021·Twitter”
I didn’t check the others, Twitter is too slow for me.
I don’t do twitter, YIR2.
He’s never been off the screens, in the Blahs in the past 4 weeks praising his blessed Union.. Now he is a twitter?
It’s all gone quiet over there, non twitter-wise, that’s my point.
Be careful you are not speaking too soon. Cases of the Indian variant were doubling every week but now they seem to be trebling.
Most of the cases are in England but there are case in the Southside of Glasgow.
The daily figures for Scotland are published here
https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-daily-data-for-scotland/
They are usually updated between 2-3pm each day. You can also use the link on this site to the interactive dashboard to get the vaccination figures and things such as the number of cases in your neighbourhood
Legerwood, I never took you to be a Job’s Comforter before.
Are you hack working for the Blahs?
Only bad news sells?
Yesterday’s figures are exceptionally ‘good news’ apart of course from the one fatality.
I wonder how the lock down has improved the stats ‘from non Covid’ related deaths in the past year.
Traffic accidents, ‘flu, murder, old age, cancer, heart attacks,?
Sadly the one death from the pandemic in 24 hours is still at the very least an indicator that we are on track to suppress if not eliminate Covid 19, surely?
Any isolated flare ups now that the vaccination programme is well underway can surely be managed out.
Only 4 patients in ICU, and 63 in hospital, and 1.2% positive of those tested, are truly remarkable statistics..
We are on top of it.
But that should stop our media from reinforcing the messages which can keep us safe on public broadcast outlets, and it is in my mind a ‘political’ decision, not because these still vital stats are not crucial, and ‘inform and educate’ the public.
Tomorrow, at lunch time, thousands of knuckledraggers will take to our streets, ‘march on’ George Square, destroy property, threaten our citizens, and attack our hard pressed police.
This is the biggest threat to our health in the Southside, not poor souls spreading the ‘Indian’ variant.
Job’s comforter? Hmm.
I do have a PhD in Microbial Genetics and the focus of my research was a virus albeit one that infects bacteria. Therefore I prefer the whole picture because the one thing that we have learned in the past year or so is that however good the figures with this virus they can turn on a sixpence.
By the cringe, you got me, Legerwood.
Or maybe not.
Still. my glass remains half full.
Empirically, we are beating this pestilence…according to the stats…
That’s all I’m saying.
You can be an expert Job’s Comforter, you know.
I touched a nerve? Surely no’?
Hahaha. That’ll teach you Jack 😀.
I learn something new diurnally, Petra.
Legerwood is indeed an expert, and I am humble follower of the science.
The science tells me that the vaccination programme and the social distancing measures are working, and that any future flare ups in our modern Northern Temperate country, with its incredible health infrastructure, can be managed very effectively indeed..the ‘social science’ element of suppressing the virus.
I recall Professor Hugh Pennington’s harbinger of doom forecast of hundreds of thousands of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) , Mad Cow Disease to us non experts….
That didn’t happen..
But I bow to any ones expertise in their field…bases on hard facts, not hypotheses, or ‘We’re Doomed!’ harbingerie
I’m just spitting on the stove hot plate and watching it sizzle now, to be honest.
Aye…..Jack has had his collar felt!…lol
You’re all enjoying this far too much, if you ask me.
I’m sure that Legerwood and I will kiss, side cuddle, and make up.
Of course we all enjoy slapping a smart ass down, no more than me, an odds on contender for the smart ass gold Medal.
I still stand by my argument; no matter the variant, it is manageable, compared with May 2020,surely?
Yes, the vaccinations certainly help. The quicker everyone gets a shot now, the better.
Jack, worth a look at this link from Petra this morning, looking at this data one of the Indian variants looks like it may become the dominant strain and right now we don’t know if that’s a serious concern or not.
https://mobile.twitter.com/Dr_D_Robertson/status/1392922094355337227
We’ll talk more tomorrow, oh, sat about 14.20 hours when the Murdo Fraser variant floods along Paisley Road West, across Jamaica Street Bridge up Oswald Street into Hope Street and swarms around George Square ripping up park benches, vomiting up Buckfast and throwing bottles at innocent passersby and our long suffering police officers.
That’s the ‘science’ to which I am paying attention at the meantime.
There is a spike in Glasgow, for sure, and measures are being taken, but we can’t protect our citizens from the age old cancer that is Sellick and Ranjurs.
Some may argue that Murdo Fraser should be arrested for inciting civil disobedience.
Indeed it is worrying, Sridhar et al have been ringing alarms, but the Tories and the current incumbent of #10 in particular have a proven record in shutting the stable door after the horses have bolted, the staff are dead, the barn is burned to the ground, a mall has been built in it’s place at taxpayer cost, and the death toll has been halved by judicious pruning of reality.
Scotland’s problem has always been collateral damage FROM London policy, but I suggest SG’s experts are watching this like a hawk, and will advise best moves when deemed necessary meeting zero resistance from SG.
I agree with you there, hospital numbers were decreasing on schedule from mid-Feb until a few days ago, and the cause of the stall was not Moray but the south side of Glasgow. And the fact that it’s the Indian variant is particularly troubling, not because of its properties but because our quarantine requirements should have caught it.
One suspects that people were “sneaking in the back door” from England (and it just takes one). Our currently-unprotected southern border. And anyone still thinks that a so-called “hard border” would be undesirable?
I’m inclined to think Nicola is going to bring Mondays release to a screeching halt (in Glasgow at least).
It could be limited to areas, if that’s feasible. But this thing is relentless, and doesn’t offer any quarter to fools and wishful thinkers. Fortunately, the FM and her medical advisors aren’t in the least. (Though the politicians are maybe slightly distracted at the moment by having to form a new government. And we remain frustratingly chained to the moronic regime down south.)
Covid has to be under control worldwide for any country to feel it is safe from pandemic
All the talk and advertising of holidays overseas is plain silly so many people forget that the even if UK govt say you can go to certain countries , those countries may decide you cannot .
So many folk booking holidays but not taking into account that it is a two way process , you cant go unless the country you are leaving and the country you are going to both agree that you can do so.
‘Top Europeans tell Boris Johnson SNP have a mandate for indyref2.’
..”The mandate for a referendum is clear,” it said. David Cameron called the EU Referendum after winning the 2015 general election with just 36.9% of the vote, Boris Johnson pushed through Brexit after being elected by 43.6% of voters, in what was called a Tory landslide. Nicola Sturgeon’s SNP has now won 47.7% of the vote share; results that would have given the SNP 85% of the seats in Parliament if Scotland had the same ‘first-past-the-post’ electoral system as the UK.”..

In the Commons and in print Lisa Nandy was urging the UK government to treat Scotland the same way as Madrid treated Catalonia, but of course she’s too thick to know and doesn’t understand that Police Scotland are not the Guardia Civil, Spain’s private army of *police* and our police in Scotland *serve* by consent and make themselves available to prevent disorder and crime to protect citizens, not to create disorder or punish them
That’s the Labour party for you, the Tories little worker drones
Yes, it isn’t a political issue down south, English exceptionalism goes right across the political and media spectrum. Graun and C4 just as much as the Heil and Sky.

I’ve no doubt that the demo yesterday will be being discussed today in No 10. It was an embarrassing defeat for the Home Office and a personal embarrassment for the authority of Priti Awful and Johnson.
The thing that will likely concern them most is that the Chief Constable of Scotland ordered their release, which undermines their authority and exposes the fact that they have no power over the Police service in Scotland.
I’m sure they will be worried today with thoughts of the future when they need to “crackdown” on unruly Independence supporters and there is no one there who will obey them.
Well done the people of Pollokshields in exposing another weakness in their armoury.
aye, it really was quite a victory yesterday. priti awful will be bealing 🙂
Thanks again for this blog, Paul, and I hope you’re continuing to get better and stronger. There’s been a conspiracy between scientists and film makers for years who’ve been burying fake bones then digging them up again to fool us all into going to the pictures to watch fake animals that never existed munching on other fake animals that never were, and all just to make a quick buck, they’re evil I tell you evil
They’ll be telling us next there were people before the flood and Noah’s Zoo boat
All dastardly plots every one of them

‘Course there were people before The Flood, silly billy. There was Noah, for one. Probably a timber merchant for another, since o-b-v-i-o-u-s-l-y he couldn’t have done everything himself. There were also aliens in the first editions of the account, but they would have taken those out because, well, they’re just too unbelievable.
Boris Johnson decides not to delay ‘opening-up’ England.
Yet again he is in denial.
He might have chahged his mind yet again.
My mrs re-played me a BBC “interview” shortly ago on R4 where Evan Davis does his best as faithful representative of the English Government to Anglosplain the “facts of life” to Aamer Anwar, but (like Pritty Awful Patel from the citizens of Glasgow) gets more than he bargained for from his redoubtable opponent.
This touch of Scottish civil disobedience is probably as worrying for London as the recent election results. From little cracks of rejection of governance great breaches can quickly grow.
The rioting mobs descending on the lovely UK immigration enforcement officers will now be in terrible fear of these ferocious outbreaks of violence against them from crazed women with prams and raggedly dressed children baring their teeth as they circled the officers on their chopper bikes threatening them with ice poles and other deadly treats
civil disobedience has its place in this campaign grizebard, what do i tell the snp activist in my branch if westminster continues to say no? time to deliver more leaflets? that isnt gonna cut it
Yes, but it has to be spontaneous to work, like this recent one. Ordinary people reacting naturally to some event, part of the zeitgeist, not artificially set up beforehand by somebody overtly political. (At least, not until all democratic forms of progress are blocked.)
What we need from the SNP specifically now is starting to seriously pave the ground for the coming referendum. Like the new SG setting up an “Indy Unit” as a response to the English Government’s “Union Unit”.
Yes, but it has to be spontaneous to work. not neccessarily, ive just spent the last 3 years working in france where the gilet jaune have been very active. there are lessons to be learnt for us. they are successful because they are organised
The GJ’s are an left-right extremist dead end. All they achieve is anarchy. This kind of provocateur stuff is dangerous, not only because it dissuades the very people we need to convert right now, but also because the extremist right have always “got the best tunes”. Playing with fire like this right now is just plain foolish. It plays right into the hands of the enemies of independence.
The GJ’s are an left-right extremist dead end……. in the main yes but thats not completely true, the GJ started of as a hauliers strike but became grass roots with individual groups spring up all over the place. there were clashes in paris between left and right wing GJ groups. i jest not. however, it wasnt their politics i was pointing to, it was their civil disobedience tactics
Simply causing wanton disruption to ordinary people going about their ordinary business, which was (is?) the GJ way, is no way to attract and win converts. Au contraire, mon ami, one might add.
Quite different from ordinary people themselves spontaneously saying “enough is enough”. Rejecting in a very direct way legitimacy of rule. A government who no longer governs by consent doesn’t govern at all.
That was my point.
i discussed this with some of the gilet jaunes, and yes, some of their demonstations descended into vandalism and violence. however, most of their actions were designed to disrupt eg, blocking bridges and roads etc, eg, 100 would walk round the pelican crossings at the exit of a roundabout, all day, effectively stopping the traffic. it isnt illegal to use a pelican crossing, pedestrians have right of way.
thing is, this wouldnt work here. blocking eg the forth crossing would only inconvenience folk in fife and edinburgh. bojo would love it, he couldnt give a toss if scotlands economy took a hit.
yesterdays actions were text book, minimum impact on the people of scotland but westminster got a bloody nose. outstanding work by the folk in pollokshields
thing is, from what i can read into what happened, this was a deliberate attempt by westminster to stir the shit. it was westminster who came looking for trouble and they will come again. confrontation is now inevitable grizebard whether we want it or not.
the ride is about to become a lot more bumpy
“not until all democratic forms of progress are blocked”
I think I agree. However we need to press much more strongly and quickly to get to the point when blockage or no blockage is the outcome – for at least three reasons.
Firstly is the morale and cohesion of the Yes movement.
Secondly, the longer we wait the more opportunity there is for Westminster to act to disrupt, to divert, to legislate ‘defensively’ and to bribe.
And thirdly, it is IMHO not healthy for a democracy to have one party alone in government for too long – but until independence, the SNP remains the only feasible enabler of independence.
Scotland’s governance is presently ‘constipated’ – we need this ‘blockage’ resolved as soon as possible, one way or another.
Tory Murdo Fraser sends out a tweet practically encouraging Ranges supporters to turn up outside Ibrox by connecting it with the protest in Pollokshields in an *if they can get away with it why not you* piece of anti SNP stupidity
One of these days, the idiot fire-raiser Murdo Fraser will get burnt.

Glad to see this acknowledgement of positive, committed community action. Disappointed tho’ to see NO acknowledgement in the article of the empathy /support for the community action by Scottish Government ministers and an SNP MP. Lots of tweets reproduced in the article but none of those from the FM or Scotland’s Justice Secretary. Odd! Why? (Apologies if I missed any acknowledgement but don’t think I have!)
Regardless of the omission, a ‘good’ day for the local community and I hope a reaction applauded across Glasgow, Scotland and beyond. The early days of a better nation!
The SG can’t. Should be obvious, really. We have to stop nit-picking them over posturing. What they do is necessarily “behind the scenes”. Maybe one day we’ll find out.
No stewartb you did not miss any acknowledgement of the SG’s part in this or Alison Thewlis’ involvement because it was not mentioned.
What was also disappointing in this article and in Libby Brooks article in the Guardian was the reference to ‘aggressive police action’ vis-a-vis the crowd. In the Libby Brooks’ article it was ‘police in riot gear’. Yet none of the clips in the Pajiba article, or in fact any of the many clips that I have seen, showed police in riot gear or acting aggressively and with force towards the crowd or individuals in it.
No batons were drawn, tasers unholstered, tear gas unleashed or members of the crowd beaten and dragged away in handcuffs. The police were in high viz gear and normal uniform not riot gear and shields.
Was anyone arrested?
It is disappointing that the role the police played in allowing the protest to proceed peaceably has not been acknowledged. They were in a difficult position and handled it well. The result was that a spontaneous peaceful protest progressed to a peaceful and just conclusion. People were allowed to exercise their right to free assembly and peaceful protest. And that is what the world has seen despite the efforts of the media to set police and people at odds. This is not what people around the world saw.
This right to peaceful assembly and protest may disappear if the UK Government’s proposed legislation is passed.
Due acknowledgement of the role played by the Scottish Police service was indeed sadly lacking. What stuck out like the proverbial sore thumb was the complete lack of any kind of aggressive action.
Thank you, Golfnut. I was beginning to think I was the only one who noticed this. The police were there as much to protect the people in the street by stopping the demo being hijacked by nutters as anything else.
I noticed that too, Legerwood.
Grossly unfair to the police. They neither experienced nor instigated any aggressive action.
At the moment, I’m pleased to say that Scottish law is to continue to allow the right to protest peacefully. I wonder if WM will attempt to override that as an ’emergency measure’?
Surely they’d be hard pressed to say “We have to. Look at what happened in Glasgow”. If that was their aim, the fireworks were a bit of a damp squib, eh?
the more i see of this the more i realise just how powerful a statement and image this is projecting across the world

The Indian variant could pose “serious disruption” to lockdown easing in England on 21 June, the PM has said.
Boris Johnson said if it was found to be “significantly” more transmissible there could be “some hard choices”.
But Mr Johnson warned: “I have to level with you that this new variant could pose a serious disruption to our progress and could make it more difficult to move to step four in June.”
He said he did not believe it was “impossible” to go ahead with step four of England’s roadmap to ease coronavirus restrictions, but “we have to be utterly realistic” and there was “the risk of disruption and delay”.
https://archive.is/K1qkL
He’s completely irresponsible. First he was late to close down flights from India in spite of all the warnings, and now taking his foot off the brake too soon.
Unbelievable.
Late to lockdown in March 2020. Early release in in the Autumn.
He’s guided by finance; not health. Just listen to the average ‘vocal’ anti-lockdown type. Mostly business folk and/or investors (or conspiracy nuts at the other end of the spectrum).
Anyone else totally scunnered with this in Scotland? Lets just close the border FGS. We’ve just about had it. Getting angry now.
A small cluster of cases of the Indian variant has been identified in Fife.
Could not believe Boris Johnson yesterday.

Bojo The Clown in his address to the nation ( England ) clearly warning of the consequences of this new Covid variant , seriously worried from his expression and words – then does a volte-face and talks up the ”Road map to Freedom ” !
Has he , again , discussed his preference for ”thousands of bodies piling up in the streets” before he will contemplate another Lockdown ?
Or has he learned his lesson and said this behind a sound-proof door ?
I think you know the answer to that one James.

Absolutely the best chronological precis of events I’ve read so far.
We and the best part of Scotland (mostly women) say that you are over and out mister. It seems that you won’t give up and hey neither will we.
‘Alba will contest Scotland’s council elections next year, Alex Salmond says.’
http://www.thenational.scot/news/19304095.alba-will-contest-scotlands-council-elections-next-year-alex-salmond-says/
You’d think as a politician Alex Salmond would realise the court of public opinion doesn’t care what any legal verdict is
So the council elections are vote 1,2,3 etc
Best way is vote 1 snp, maybe 2 for 2nd snp candidate, 3 Green or maybe AN other independence or an “independent” candidate. Don’t put any 4,5,6 on the paper as this vote will be included in the count. It could make the difference for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th choice candidates elected.
If there are 6 candidates some folk believe you must vote 1 through to 6. That’s not the case.
Plane loads of Rangers fans are arriving from Belfast to pretend they’re plane loads of Rangers fans, so big shout out to Tory Murdo Fraser and the rest of the nutters who encouraged this potential trouble spot and health risk by creating the political narrative against the SNP to the nutters who support them
When Police Scotland are forced to confront these *supporters* Murdo Fraser and his ilk will have another wee political ruse for the idiots to swallow, of course much of this could have been stopped at source if the Political idiots in Northern Ireland hadn’t had an interest in the desired outcome
‘The reason for suspecting a Scottish poll conducted right now might show a pro-independence majority.’
..”Alex Salmond has released a video this afternoon making abundantly clear that Alba will be contesting next May’s local elections, and as a result I would suggest it’s now virtually inconceivable that the party will fold before then. He remains the leader (or technically the acting leader) of a party with two members of parliament at Westminster and well over ten local councillors.”..

‘War of Independence won’t be won with cash.’
http://www.theneweuropean.co.uk/brexit-news/spending-pledges-will-not-curb-scottish-independence-7963528
SGP supporting Alba during the Holyrood election is one thing. But he is continuing with his support it seems, as in this from his article about the council elections: “but it’s up to all of us who value Alba’s contribution to ensure that there’s a good result instead.“.
Which means he can count me out. For me, Alba is negative to Independence support, they scare off potential YES supporters with their shoutiness. A good pro-Indy independent candidate would be far more likely to get my preference after SNP and Green. Sadly I can also be counted out for his poll crowdfunding as well unless he guarantees not one single question about Alba. I am not paying in any way at all to support a party I do not support.
Yes, I was also dismayed to see him persist after all his earlier reasoning was amply justified by what actually happened, and his latterday justification of his U-turn on the grounds that “a Great Leader can make all the difference” was comprehensively trashed. He is obviously being driven by motivation entirely divorced from the facts.
As to Alba in the local elections, it seems totally pointless, since the pop-up will never succeed in competing against the SNP (no longer “supporting”, note!) either in candidate numbers or in popularity, so under STV is virtually guaranteed to drop out and provide its vote transfers first. Like you, I reckon it’s no more than a spoiler, and likely a deliberate one. At best it’s a giant ego trip, and at worst, well, who lies behind it all and why is increasingly making me wonder.
JK playing along with this wannabe-populist diversion in self-evident contradiction to all his previous sensible analysis is not doing his reputation any favours. He needs to have a good talk with his former self!
Alba and Salmond are an annoying distraction at the moment, but hopefully people will lose interest. Alba got 1.7% of the electorate and 3.5% of the SNP support, and already people who voted for them are saying it was a wasted vote. I think we’re in the run up to Indy Ref 2, and that’s what I’ll be doing mostly 🙂
Jay Kay is the Rev’s replacement
Who that? Oh, right. {duh}
Shouldn’t it be Joe Kay now anyway? (Geddit…?)
Sad to say that I have been stopped from posting on SGP. James has turned into a rabid ALBA, hence Salmond devotee and exceedingly lukewarm towards the SNP. This is reflected by the numerous displaced and irrational posters from the self appointed God from Bath posting their trash on James’ blog.
”Thank you to @lumi_1984 for collating the statements from across Scotland’s political party protesting & reaffirming the people’s place as sovereign (includes Nicola Sturgeon). Anyone remember the tv show called The Telegoons?
Douglas Ross IS ‘Bluebottle.’
I’m sorry Tam , but I cannot accept the comparison . Bluebottle was a favourite of mine – he was dumb and stupid and loveable and highly MORE intelligent and mannerly than DRoss !

Apparently in another place the Kenmuir st protest against the HM Home office was a deliberate set up to make Nicola Sturgeon look good. This was undertaken by the U.K. government because nudge, nudge, Nicola is really a britnat spy since she joined the snp party age 16.
The delusional impact on some people by politics is something to behold.
Surely the election result last week would suggest Nicola Sturgeon already looks good in the public eye.
Still thanks to the U.K. government for helping further.

Neil McKay (the journalist) points out an obvious fact – aligning with ALBA may have damaged AUOB’s credibility as a non aligned organisation. Pity. I went on several of their marches and would have gone to Arbroath in 2020 had Covid 19 not intervened. Our branch had organised a bus.
Not sure I would bother to turn up again. https://twitter.com/NeilMackay/status/1393484545761157121?s=20
AUOB ceases to be what it says it is if it affiliates itself with one particular banner over the others, it then becomes a political party supporter
That was the point of *All* under one banner,* inclusivity
There were SNP voters Labour voters even some Tory voters and non supporters of any party, so what’re they going to do, start all over again with an *All under one Salmond party*? all 1.6% of them, is that another strategy from the Baam from Bath
Way to shoot yourself in the foot there, or could it be way to shoot the Independence movement in the head?
I’m out too!
This from AUIBNOW is why I can’t support them, even if they don’t have an links now to Alba (they do).
“AUOB has called this Rally to demand that the newly elected Scottish Govt uses the mandate for IndyRef2 Now!”
I agree with the SNP manifesto on this and I’m as impatient as anyone can get – but sensible with it. Indy Ref 2 will be AFTER the Covid Crisis is over and it isn’t yet. Hopefully the end of the year. That’s Covid Crisis, as in Scotland, NOT pandemic as controlled by the WHO which could be years.
And this is another reason, the tweet by AUOB’s leader – the other Neil Mackay, about Kenmure Street:
“The idea that Police are just doing a job and are not doing the work of the state is nonsense. Police are people like the rest of us but that doesn’t mean that when on duty they are not upholding law & order for the ruling class. As such, when operational, Police are their agents”
He can GTF with that inacceptable crap, and I wouldn’t be associated with him. The protest was non-violent, the police were non-violent – and that was much because the great police were not confrontational. They are a credit to Scotland.
Mmm, HMS Diamond in the main channel between Bute and Little Cumbrae at 18.8 knots. Really don’t hang around. There was another moored at Fairlie for a day or two but I wasn’t letting on. Loose ships sink lips! Errr …
I think it’s to do with the first deployment of QE later on, and perhaps this is to be the first sovereign carrier strike group exercise, to show it can be done. One or two Type 23s around as well, including Kent.
No no no, this isn’t to do with “illegal immigrants”, honest guv 🙂
Oh gawd, I’ve done it now, conspiratorialists will be all over this.
Have you seen this.
While taking place predominantly in the north west of Scotland, the MOD has included Glasgow and the surrounding areas in low flying warnings for day and night flights by fast jet, rotary and transport aircraft between May 17 and 21.
Involving 58 aircraft, 16 warships, over 3,700 military personnel, Joint Warrior includes airborne assaults, amphibious landings, evacuations and live-fire exercises – with the aim of providing a complex environment in which the participants can train together, honing tactics and skills in preparation for deployment as a Combined Joint Task Force.
https://www.glasgowlive.co.uk/news/glasgow-news/exercise-joint-warrior-military-jet-20596128
Yes, it includes Prestwick as well. AIS showed a few warships around the northwest the other day. But I think some have turned off AIS. Well, I know so from seeing one that wasnae there 🙂
I feel very sorry for the cats and dogs in Glasgow. We live in the wilds of Extremadura (Spain) and the Spanish airforce practice their low flying at speed above us a LOT. We get the sonic boom and our cats and dogs HATE it, totally freaks them out
Getting used to the terrain?
Ah right, that position was received 19 hours ago. Could be halfway to Russia by now!
Mmm, and a quick look at UKDJ (I’ve been busy with work) shows that the other T45 was probably Dragon. Jeez, look at the state of this hangar on the QE:
https://ukdefencejournal.org.uk/images-shown-hms-queen-elizabeths-hangar-packed/
In other news an Osprey (VSTOL transport basically) has landed on the QE, and anyone who read me waffling on about an LPH for the Scottish Navy, here’s the Turkish ship which won’t be carrying F35s because Turkey isn’t in the program any more:
https://ukdefencejournal.org.uk/turkey-has-a-plan-for-a-drone-carrier/
Our one would likely take the Osprey as well as the F35-Bs, not cheap but good. And I’m looking at supply ships, I quite like a US One floating around the Clye at the moment. Sleek, low hull.
What exactly is the F-35 (any variant) particularly good at?
During mock-combat evaluation tests…the F-35 was invariably out-fought..out-manoeuvred by the F-16 Fighting Falcon….an ‘off-the-shelf ‘ proven aircraft available at a fraction of the price.
The F-35B is V/STOL Tam, meaning small nations CAN have a seaborne multi-purpose fighter, ground attack, ship attack, capability – with the Osprey suppying transport and air to air refuelling. Merlins for anti-sub. My take would be that some small nations (e.g. Nordic) would pool resources to cover training, upgrades, logistics, spare aircraft.
As for the F-16, the F-16 is fine, and is being give 5th Gen capabilites, but the F35 is more for standoff than dogfighting, and carries weapons internally for more stealth.
It’s horses for courses – as is the Typhoon / forthcoming Tempest, or the cheaper operationally and for purchase, Gripen E/F. I’d recommend Scotland gets the C/D as that’s plenty!
“I’d recommend Scotland gets the C/D as that’s plenty!” – Strewth, thought I was old fashioned still having vinyl despite the HDDs and SSDs, so is that C/D as in frisbees, plans for independence, diplomatic immunity ? I’m already acquainted with the 7Ps but clearly suffering a touch of WTF

Soor Prune Wilson effectively summarises in one body – with orifice – everything that’s wrong with the Northern Twig-not-Branch of the British Labour Party.
Myself, the only faint regret I have is that Andy Wightman wasn’t re-elected and made Presiding Officer. Now that would have been fun..!
…but likely wouldn’t have pleased Soor Prune a whit more.
Interesting article in the National by Scott Crichton Styles who is this:
https://abdn.pure.elsevier.com/en/persons/scott-styles
in the article this, for new Acts of the Scottish Parliament:
“My suggestion is that all Scottish Acts of Parliament should be preceded by an enactment clause which proclaims the sovereignty of the people in the following words:
The Sovereign People of Scotland, as represented by their elected Members in the Scottish Parliament presently assembled in Edinburgh, and with the assent of the Queen’s most Gracious Majesty, does hereby enact, statute and ordain as law: – ”
https://www.thenational.scot/news/19305987.pledge-sovereignty-scots-people-powerful-symbol-msps/
I like it 🙂
I could just about go with that, provided it were accompanied by wording that also required newly-elected members of our Parliament to swear allegiance to the Sovereign People of Scotland, as they properly should. (With “as represented in the person of her Maj” or suchlike tacked on if absolutely necessary, at least while we remain a kingdom. Which outcome might well depend on strict royal neutrality in IR2, unlike last time, methinks.)
Clever, brilliant even.
We are going to hear a lot about pre negotiating the independence settlement and the Crown is at the heart of their problem. Control essential.
The Irish civil war was started because westminster insisted that the Irish Parliamentarians swore allegiance to crown. Scotland ‘s circumstance is not the same as Ireland, but they may trying to use the same template.
Following on from my post yesterday on the ‘Southside’ Indian variant when I observed:-
“Jack Collatin says:
May 14, 2021 at 6:48 pm
Some may argue that Murdo Fraser should be arrested for inciting civil disobedience.”
And it came to pass…
What is it about these knuckledraggers, that we law abiding citizens who have been maintaining Covid precautions for 14 months now, are allowed to behave like this, and everybody just turns a bling eye?
It is because the Mighty Ranjurs are Tefal?
When the spike spikes, and some of these assholes end up in hospital, or infect innocents by this bestial display of violent menace, why do we have to put up with it.
We’re talking about Brit fighters buzzing Glasgow next week, nothing to report on today…
I am ragin’ beyond words that my City Centre has been invaded by this scum. ‘celebrating’ and spreading disease mayhem menace and wanton destruction. As if our police and emergency services, and hospitals do not have enough to cope with.
Murdo Fraser incites this Blackshirt rabble, and nothing is said.
And if anyone posts here that this savage brutal drunken idiocy is ‘understandable’, to that person I say, by what code of decency do you live?
A mob took over my city for 24 hours, and we just had to lock our doors, close the curtains and sit it out.
Rangers and Celtic should just close down entirely.
Who the fuck paid for the hundreds of police today? Rangers?
So, Dr Legerwood, it is this mob of criminals who are spreading the virus, more viciously than any ‘Indian’ variant.
That mob of criminals has always been a virus all of their own who infect and re infect their own species with a disease there’s no vaccine for
I am not clear why I merit, if that is the right word here, a mention and in such a way that infers/implies/suggests a darker motive re my comments yesterday about this new variant. Perhaps you would like to clarify your last paragraph.
I would not disagree with anything you have said in your piece before that last paragraph. Seeing the photos of the fans earlier today, maskless, was damning as was the similarly maskless idiots going in to Wembley.
Legerwood,
I am not getting at you, honestly.
While the ‘indian’ variant is of great concern, the obscene mob rule which we are living through right now, is a far more serious, dangerous, and ominous ‘virus’ as Dr Jim describes it above.
There are quite literally tens of thousands of psychopaths abroad in our city tonight causing mayhem…I can hear the drunken chants from my back door, and the fireworks are unrelenting.
There is footage of some poor soul being kicked senseless in the city centre in broad daylight and a fleet of ambulances and police vans in George Square, while the mob controls the streets.
This is just the latest in a series of defiant mob rule events involving ‘celebrating’ Ranjurs winning a football match.
There is no control, Rangers (and Celtic) are allowed to go their merry way, and nothing happens.
We are to hide and hope that the violence doesn’t spread to the suburbs?
We are in the 21st Century.
They are not the Peeple, and the men who control them and make millions from bigotry and sectarianism must be brought to book, now.
What is this invisible force that prevents society and good honest people calling this out for what it is?
Is it the Masons, the Knights, the filthy rich Oligarchy who allow two football clubs to gather tens of thousands of thugs to their cause, and 5.4 million Scots citizens have no say on this obscene blot on our society?
These gangs of thugs are a remnant of the sad past, but this anarchy still makes lots of dough for the bosses, and keeps working folk divided in to two fearful camps..the Proddies and the Cathliks.
Divide and conquer.
Oh, no, we ignore this disgrace, instead we spend our time anguishing over the ‘Indian’ variant..while psychopaths thugs drunks and criminals swagger through our streets?
I am in a rage beyond pacifying now, Legerwood.
Jack,
As I said above I am not arguing with you about what is going on in Glasgow City Centre just now. It is senseless, mindless thuggery which, in the midst of our current fight with Covid and all its variants makes it even more unacceptable.
Any large gathering even as a trial- 20000 at Wembley tonight, thousands at discos/concerts in Liverpool – are just unacceptable.
It is only a few short weeks ago that these same fans in the same place indulged in the same thuggery. It really is past time to put a stop to it once and for all.
The one is not an alternative to the other, Jack. They’re both blights on society, and both hinder our path to independence. It’s just that one is evolving frantically to survive, the other is regressing mindlessly to self-extinction.
My last word on this. BBC Breakfast this morning telling England what a unruly place Scotland is….The scenes of devastation in George Square beamed to the English who must be getting fed up subsidising us ungrateful Jocks….
There are not ‘two sides’, grizebard.
It is a homogenous group of thugs, lawless animals who continue to threaten us all, and who are backed by sinister forces within the Old Brit Nat Jock Oligarchy.
Murdo Fraser’s Blackshirts. Professor Two Jobs WATP Adam Tomkins Stormtroopers. Kevin McKenna’s poor misunderstood OBFA common decent working class worthies ‘criminalised’ by Nicola Sturgeon..and so on.
I sincerely hope that engineers are checking the squinty bridge this morning…thousands of these animals congregated on this fragile looking structure yesterday….
Are Rangers being billed with the costs of herding this mob around the City?
The Sunday Dead Tree Scrolls have already pushed this RFC ‘celebrations’ scandal way down the pages …
A massive WATP news black out…
The SFA could ban crowds at Ibrox for 10 games of course, but they won’t.
Yes, I get all that, and I’m totally with you there. I imagine we all share the frustration at how these dead-end morons behave, and what’s particularly galling is the way their despicable BritNaz antics are always turned by their ever-helpful media against us.*
But the Covid thing is still there, and it doesn’t care. It just turned the nastiness up a notch, and can’t be ignored.
*Oh, check out the covid link that Petra kindly provided, from The Sunday Heil or whatever (they’re interchangeable anyway). In England the headline over the virus shouts “Houston, we’ve got a problem”, in Scotland it screams “Sturgeon’s fault!!”. These propaganda comics are so bent they’re circular.
Martin Guissler had half an hour of telly time this morning when he could have shown footage of yesterday’s ‘celebrations’, and the aftermath in George Sq., but chose not to. He did compare Kenmure Street crowd to the ‘Loyalist’ mobs yesterday, of course, under orders no doubt from ‘Higher Up’ to relegate any report on the rampaging hordes yesterday to steam Radio Jordanhill later, when there would be no audience listening, and of course no pictures of the raging drunken vandals to show Scotland what is really happening in Glasgow; the Elite professional classes in the city, via their mouthpiece, the Brit Broadcaster, are deliberately censoring and shoving the Ibrox celebrations down Winston Smith’s Ingsoc Memory Hole, because The Rangers Are The Peeple…
Instead Guissler tried and failed miserably to have a go at a lawyer representing two asylum seekers, and pointing out that, as his duty as a compliant employee of the English State Propaganda Machine he is under contract to do, that immigration is a UK English Government remit, and that anyway we Scots agree with Priti Patel, et cetera et cetera et cetera….
Well done Martin, you mentioned the RFC ‘Carnage’ briefly by holding up a Blah at the close of your wee show, but I think that you got away with it…
This is my point posted earlier..Rangers and their hordes of savages get away with it because the ‘professional classes’ in Scotland and Glasgow make sure that the vicious mob ‘carnage’ is minimised, and so we must brace ourselves for the next mob vandalism and violence…
Yes, just like Evan Davis on the BBC Home Service the other day, forget even-handed journalism, their understood duty for the English state broadcaster is to lay down the official line against any poor ignorant local who might {ahem} mistakenly think different.
And as you say, make sure to resolutely look the other way when the facts don’t suit.
Craig Murray says ,
“ The UK state will never accept the great loss to its resources that would result from Scottish Independence. Scottish territory, seas, military bases, renewable energy, water, minerals, food products, financial institutions, education, and above all “human capital” to exploit, are all viewed as essential to London.
Keeping Scotland is the most vital of all UK national interests. As I have explained till I am blue in the face, David Cameron only agreed the last referendum because at the time Independence stood around 28% in the polls and the UK state apparatus believed the referendum would destroy and humiliate the very idea of Independence. Instead of which, the astonishing Alex Salmond brought it to the brink of achievement.
Where it has hovered ever since.
That is why there will never be another referendum agreed by Whitehall. Even if Johnson wanted to agree (which he doesn’t), the security services, military and other power structures of the UK Establishment would prevent him.
Nor can Scotland, “legally” in terms of UK law, hold a referendum without agreement. The UK Supreme Court has already explicitly held that Westminster is sovereign, in its ruling that the Sewell Convention has no force in law. If, as she suggests, Nicola Sturgeon leaves it to the courts to decide if a referendum without a S30 is legal, I have no doubt whatsoever – not even 0.000001% uncertainty – that one of two things will happen.
(1) Either the Supreme Court will rule that, under the current Scotland Act, an advisory referendum on a reserved matter is illegal without Westminster agreement;
[I think that would very probably be the ruling; ultra vires expenditure]
(2) Or the Tories will simply amend the Scotland Act to specifically outlaw the referendum, which the UK Supreme Court will certainly uphold because of their established doctrine that sovereignty resides in Westminster.
Either way, one thing is absolutely clear. There will never be a “legal” referendum as legality is defined by London. It is just not going to happen. Independence is going to have to be achieved illegally in terms of UK law, but legally in terms of international law.
How do you do that? I am constantly told this is impossible, that the UK state will act to prevent it happening. Well, we saw the answer in Pollokshields yesterday, and very plainly. The British government cannot enforce its law on the streets of Scotland if the people of Scotland reject that UK law and its enforcers. Yesterday there were riot shields, helmets, long batons, horses, and all the panoply of repression on display, and all of that could not take two men out of the community, against the will of the people.
Pollokshields showed how the people of Scotland will eventually take their own Independence. The “illegal” way in British law. The Gandhi way. The Mandela way. The people’s way. You cannot impose UK law on the people of Scotland. “
I agree with Craig , Westminster will never agree to a Scottish independence referendum unless they are pretty certain they will win it , so not anytime soon.
Cobblers.
If society were totally governed by the rule of law anarchy would be the almost immediate result but it’s not because society is ruled by the perception of law and that’s where politics comes in to give the perception of democracy, and democracy is people led, it has to be or the law becomes dictatorship and we refer to rule one, result breakdown
Craig Murray is not a diplomat for very good reasons
Please post the pictures of riot shields, long batons, helmets and horses on display yesterday. As for the rest, we’ve heard it all before.
It’s not so long ago you were here promoting Alba and the Super majority as the way to independence. So if you believe westminster will never agree to a referendum, why were you promoting Alba.
The FM, contrary to your previous assertions, has clearly stated that she will legislate for a referendum with or without westminsters agreement.
I think the cobblers story about police horses and batons comes form a Libby Brooks article in the Guardian – she’s the Scottish correspondent. clearly she wasn’t there.
In defence of Wee Libby, if you read her article, she wasn’t claiming any of that happened, she was simply quoting a protester calling himself “Van Man” who was present and either saw it (transiently, presumably, since it never registered in any photos) or for whatever reason was “over-egging the custard”.
I confess – I didn’t read it. It was in twitter post in reply to Neil McKay (AUOB) criticising the police.
Apos to Libby.
“It’s not so long ago you were here promoting Alba and the Super majority as the way to independence. So if you believe Westminster will never agree to a referendum, why were you promoting Alba?” Exactly. Slippery customers, these, but you nailed it right there.
Kenmure Street was an excellent example of the power of direct action when used in a good cause.
The inhuman treatment of refugees and asylum seekers is intolerable and should not be tolerated in a civilised society. So the activists were perfectly justified in opposing it.
Both the First Minister and the Justice Minister objected to the Home Office action. The police behaved as any police force should, pretty impeccably. Aamer Anwar arrived to support the two men and escort them to a safe place.
But it could have been completely different if any of these actors had been unprincipled.
We can be proud of the fact that everyone left the Home Office with nowhere to go but retreat. The whole episode demonstrates how necessary it is to have power over immigration policy.
So now your Craig Murray’s little mouthpiece, eh? He has his own blog (while he’s free, anyway), so why does he need somebody like you?
Recall the house rules, pal. Spreading Murray’s dubious “England über alles” demoralisation attempts hardly seems to qualify.

‘Can Nicola Sturgeon afford to gamble on a second independence referendum?’
..”But a Gina Miller figure could go to the same court and wreck a referendum, or the Lord Advocate, Scotland’s chief legal officer, may well advise Sturgeon a referendum bill is beyond the competence of the Holyrood parliament under the 1988 Scotland Act; in short, illegal. “Goodbye Caledonia, hello Catalonia” is not a slogan which appeals to Sturgeon.”..

..”Another contrast was also particularly sharp this week. On Tuesday, Queen Elizabeth was obliged to make one of her occasional visits to the House of Lords to read out a characteristically short and stilted speech about the UK government’s legislative plans for the session.Covered with ridiculous solemnity the BBC, viewers were – as usual – invited to admire archaic features of the protocol and coo at the unique genius of British statecraft, which seems to consist principally these days of senior citizens in military costumes walking slowly around mouldering buildings gilded with just a little Mar-a-Lago bling. Forget Kenmure Street: welcome to Gormenghast.”..

Watching the violence and disruption in Glasgow yesterday I wonder if the Rangers Board really, really thinks this will attract others to support this team or will be viewed by the thinking populace to stay away.
Silly question. The board doesn’t give a monkeys as long as they get their entitlement.
I hope UEFA deals with this because the SFA won’t.
What a great advert for Cop 26 in November, eh, Hamish?
What agreat advert for encouraging inward investment in Glasgow.
What the feck?
At least once again Rangers football club managed to uphold two of their greatest time honoured traditions, sectarianism and violence since 1872, something of which I’m sure they’re so proud
And many thanks to the Northern Ireland authorities who allowed plane loads of these people to depart from Belfast knowing they were on their way to Glasgow to do what they do in the best traditions of the nutters in that country
All excepting of course the actual decent supporters who stayed away, which I’m also sure there were many, so a proper non sarcastic thanks to you guys for doing the right thing
It looks like investigations are at last taking place into Alistair (Manky Jaikit) McConnachie and his fake Green party
But who is doing the ‘investigating ‘ ? Inspector Clouseau could have told the Electoral Commission that this ” minky jaiket ” was a front for a manky Unionist .
Paul, regarding Stuart Canpbell, I honestly believe he is mentally unballenced … I say this as a one time avid follower of his Blog … his analysis of facts & statements where he could authenticate or disprove with evidence, was inspiring …. but over the last several months his posts & rational have become more and more irrational, to the point I honestly believe he is mentally unhinged …. I hate to say it but your episode with him over this situation only verifies my analysis.
I’ve long since abandoned his blog over his erratic postings …. my advice is ” ignore the angry man in the room alone shouting at the walls”.
It’s clear that his tactic right now is to leave while throwing a grenade over his shoulder … taking the attention completely away form the fact that he’s (apparently) leaving the blogging scene because he lost his argument and appears to be left with a site followed by nothing but complete lunatics and instead trying to make out that something or someone else is to blame. His entire “final” post was just as disgusting as everything else him and his lunatic followers have been coming out with for years.
Anyway, he’s gone … and he’s not even worth discussing after this (maybe again in November when he’ll obviously be back …)
