Wee Ginger Dugcast – 4 October 2019

In this week’s edition of the dugcast, The National’s editor Callum Baird and I discuss how the Scottish Conservatives have been channelling that episode of Dallas when Sue Ellen woke up in the shower and discovered that the entire previous series had just been a dream. We also talk about tomorrow’s big march in Edinburgh, Boris Johnson’s continuing difficulties, and Jeauw Sweynseun’s irritable vowel syndrome.

Your comment towards the end in regards to the “Ashtray” is exactly the same as I got when I first moved to Oz. I put it down to the listener being incapable of discerning the different accent of the speaker. I found that I had to slow down a lot and even then they still struggled. So my accent is still the same but my tonal quality(not a linguist so don’t know if this is the correct terminology) has altered and I rarely have the same issue anymore.

Big fan, Paul. But have you any idea how often you interrupt the laddie?

Wishing everybody going to the March in Embra today all the very best.

Have a great day folks. 🙂
