Wee Ginger Dugcast – 9 August 2019

In the latest edition of the dugcast, The National’s editor Callum Baird and I discuss what has been a momentous week for the Scottish independence movement. The anecdotal reports that many people who had voted No in 2014 are now switching to Yes were confirmed by the poll from the Conservative pollster Michael Ashcroft which put support for independence in the lead. We talk about the poll, the BBC’s shameful lack of coverage of it, the implications for the movement, and the meltdown in the Labour party in Scotland.

newbook My new book has just been published by Vagabond Voices. Containing the best articles from The National from 2016 to date. Weighing in at over 350 pages, this is the biggest and best anthology of Wee Gingerisms yet. This collection of pieces covers the increasingly demented Brexit years, and the continuing presence and strength of Scotland’s independence movement.

They’re not available for sale unfortunately. They were produced by The National as a promotion in order to encourage people to subscribe. There’s none left. However there may be some more available in time for Christmas. I’ll keep you posted.

Good content in this edition but please be careful about sound balance between Paul/Calum. I know it’s a good idea to breath regularly but the Dug’s inhalations tended to dominate the Journalist’s words!

WGD should consider publishing a Wee Broon Book compiling every Broontervention speech accompanied by our WGD’s hilarious response to each item of Broon BS. A old pick of Godzilla on the cover would be approrpriate. Just in time for Christmas. Could be a big seller. 🙂

The last part of the podcast it was mentioned an increase in subscriptions to the National well strangely enough i tried and apparently i am banned what for i really dont know ,maybe it’s because i pointed out on quite a few occasions the need for some moderation on its online version , day and daily the same lot pitch their unionist tents on the Nationalists front lawn it’s like their own personal platform which begs the question why , why is this being allowed on the only independence supporting paper in the whole of Scotland is the other 99.99% of the media not enough .
