This week in the Wee Ginger Dugcast, The National’s editor Callum Bard and I discuss the SNP conference, double standards in the Scottish media, the over-rated Ruth Davidson, the English local elections, and tomorrow’s massive march and rally.
Tomorrow at the march and rally, The National is giving away 10,000 copies of the paper for free to those attending to mark to huge success so far of their 10,000 steps to independence campaign (www.thenational.scot/10000steps). Tomorrow’s paper has a special Yes poster on the front page for everyone to hold up. They could use some help distributing the paper, so if you are around Kelvingrove from 12pm then they could use a hand! If you or anybody you know is able to help out that would be brilliant … Callum will be there, on Kelvin Way opposite the bandstand, from half 11.
My new book has just been published by Vagabond Voices. Containing the best articles from The National from 2016 to date. Weighing in at over 350 pages, this is the biggest and best anthology of Wee Gingerisms yet. This collection of pieces covers the increasingly demented Brexit years, and the continuing presence and strength of Scotland’s independence movement.
