Get out there in Caithness? Fat chance. Have now offered 3 TIMES to distribute the Wee Blue Book to undecideds and soft Nos, but no reply whatsoever from Yes Highland/Yes Caithness. Don’t even know if they’ve actually ordered any. Don’t even know if they actually exist at all. Have given up on Caithness ever joining the rest of the human race. Resigned myself to being the only Yes vote in the far north.

      Pam
Know how you feel. I live in the Borders and the YES campaigners are great, but I look at the websites of other areas and wish I was there. Inverness, Dundee etc seem to be out in force and having fun too.

Like you I feel underused, although have canvassed once around Selkirk and colleagues were terrific. Am still looking out for any new initiatives. Truly though, the population is so small here that it’s good to see the amazing efforts in the more densely populated central belt.

I get the feeling that many Borderers are like Aberdonians with the ” aye been ” philosophy.

Hi Jedburgh tomorrow Mass Canvas, come and meet yesers from all over the borders. Meet Jedburgh coop 3.00pm

The Borders have always had an “Aye Been” mentality…just look at Michael Moore and David (sorry Sir David…sorry Lord ) Steel. maybe because, although they live betwixt and between, they know that nothing much will change no matter what they vote for. Having lived and worked here for 40 years, I truly hope that Independence will show them that we CAN make a difference, that we WILL influence policy, and our VOTE WILL COUNT…!! Aye!!.

Pam we are doing a mass canvass in Jedburgh tomorrow 24/8/14. Meeting 3.00pm at the Coop. Come along and meet us, we need as many volunteers as possible in the borders

You’ll need to move here Pam – Yes Skye and Lochalsh very active – loads of village hall meetings across the patch with themed speakers; loads of door to door stuff; pop up Women’s cafe coming soon: pop up shop in high street up and running and open 4 hours a day; street stalls in village squares at weekends; and I believe 1500 copies of the Wee Blue Book on order 🙂

    • Jan Cowan says:

Pam, don’t give up. Try ed.yescaithness@gmail.com Ed Boyter says copies of The Wee Blue Book have been ordered……..and he’s looking for people such as you! I can assure you there are many, many YES voters in Caithness. You are certainly not alone!

Glad the Yes vote is moving forward in other areas. I used to live in the Borders and nearly moved to Skye once…Wsh I lived in either place now. The Yes campaign is non-existent up here. No organisation, no contact with people supposed to be running it, no reply from the SNP SMP for the area….I have given up entirely, except for casting my vote. A sad indictment of the Yes campaign.

Pam – I have full contact details, name, phone number and so on for you, YES Highland are very active, Elizabeth Schmitz is your contact, (01397) 712907 , mail elisabeth “AT” yeshighland.net – just replace the “AT” by @ (this helps to cut down on spam bots).
